Ryusei the Morning Star
The IANA transfer to ICANN is very bad. 1. Obama is, without congressional approval, transferring US Government property (DNS and root zone files) to a foreign organisation; 2. With control of those files, which include domains like .gov and .mil, whoever controls ICANN can start censoring the net, like they do in China and elsewhere, by keeping you from connecting to certain sites if you don't have the IP address. Example: If they don't like Reddit then you would type reddit.com into your address bar and either be redirected or go nowhere, because what you're doing is sending a request to ICANN to take you to the IP address for reddit.com, which is 198.41.209.136. So to get there you'd need to type in 198.41.209.136 instead. 3. It's possible ICANN is going to be controlled by the UN, which is a horrible, disorganized, power-hungry organisation that's put Saudi Arabia as the head of the Human Rights Council. I really dislike the man, but he's right here. SA and other countries don't have a FoS laws. Do you really want them to choose what you can and cannot say. This is the legalization of Political correctness
