Zard Y honestly has one of the best Meg designs. Builds on the original while still feeling like Charizard.

However.

 

It doesn't have STAB High-Jump-Kick paired with STAB Fake Out.

 

It also isn't pink when shiny.

However.

I ultimately went for M-Altaria, because it's the ploofiest thing I've ever seen, and I just adore that.

It's really nice to see people liking Mega Venusaur tbh, it's a rare thing I've noticed.

Mine's due to:

1. Venusaur being my favorite Gen 1 starter/Pokemon I love in general.

2. My first successful nuzlocke involved Mega Venusaur suiciding to beat Diantha's Gardevoir.

3. It's an evolution like Y-Zard: it feels like a legit evolution, not a power form.

 

Special place in my heart.

 

As for Absol, I'd like it more if it was a fairy... Like it should've been. Absol is misunderstood as "evil" (JP name for dark), and this is an angelic form, where fairies have been presented as "good".

I haven't really cared too much for megas at all, so the ones that were given to me (Blaziken, Lucario, Glalie) have grown on me. I wish i liked Venusaur, it's in my all time top 5 normally. I'd need to be bothered to use them to form more of an opinion, so since I like the look of what Glalie does in Shuffle, I'll probably go with that.

Oh and add to that how versatile it is. Can be offensive and defensive...it even can be physical if you're crazy like me.
