.Rai
Welp, guess I was wrong about Tezzeret. Curious to see how they differentiate three artifact planeswalkers then.
Premier Alexander Romanov
*drinks a cup of water*Well, let's see what today's Magic spoilers have in store-*spit-takes upon reading the first card*HEAD JUDGE TEZZERET?!?Well, at least we now know how they make the Nicol Bolas connection to go to the next block.*cleans up and drinks some more water*I'm sure that's all we have in terms of today's surpris-*glances at the next cards and spit-takes again*PIA NALAAR?!?But...where's Kiran? bury the year
But...where's Kiran? Kiran's dead: he was killed in the attack on Chandra's village to root her out. Pia was presumed dead but they never found the body, so it makes sense that she returns now. Super glad that Best Mom is back. And Tezzeret coming back... wasn't expecting that. It seems like he's been on the plane for a while for people to accept him as head judge so readily. Makes the perfect lead up to Amonkhet, and this furthers my suspicions that Bolas is behind one of the Kaladeshi factions.

Thanks.Hmm...since Tezzeret is the Head Judge, that gives him an excellent position to evaluate potential recruits, reject the recruits either himself or through another Judge by proxy, then use agents to recruit the ruined artificers to his cause. .Rai
Pia's holding Kiran's goggles in her hand, which is pretty somber. Amazingly, Red has received probably three of Magic's saddest cards in recent history. I think I'll take this moment to say that Magic is the absolute king when it comes to resonant design. The fact that they can convey sadness on a card is top-notch design.
Rodrigo
Wow, I never paid attention to Reckless Cohort. That's one heck of a sad flavor.
Flame Dragon
MAMA NALAAR!!! YAY!!!!! Ah, good old, "we didn't find a the body" trope to save her. She seems ok. Wonder is interesting. Don't think its very good outside of limited though. O hi Tezz. Your here too. 3 artifact planeswalkrs is a lot. Not to mention the color balance of the bunch if weird at Blue, Blue/Red, Red, Blue/Black.

Forest Fire
Tezzeret being a judge he'll probably have some kind of artifact removal, maybe a counter kind of thing?
heraldry_lord
As I've said in one of the previous threads, artifact blocks are relatively rare, and they are the only times in Standard where Tezzeret can shine; if he wasn't in Kaladesh or any block in the same rotation format, it would be a wasted opportunity. So yeah, colour balance wasn't a factor for me. Also:

~Faytl~
That's crazy; Four abilities on a 4-mana walker? And she basically pays for half he rcost the turn you drop he rif you go for double red. Her minus 3 is just good value for a pretty decent aount of loyalty, and her ult just makes everything a nuke. Amazing.
Just Crouton
That is the sexiest Chandra art I've ever seen O_O The colors remind me of Akroan Crusader's art.
Delibirb
Tezz's new arm is shaped like Bolas'. What a brown-noser.
heraldry_lord
Based on the little we've seen him do in the last story, and what his previous versions did, I think that this Tezzeret will still have an ability that animates artifacts (probably a minus ability). Also what's going on with him in his art is almost identical to what's going on with Saheeli in her first revealed art; I honestly wouldn't have noticed that if someone on MTGSalvation hadn't pointed it out. .Rai
calling it now: They're related somehow. father/daughter or maybe brother/sister? maybe. I mean, the first is impossible considering there's very little age difference, and the second is impossible because we know Tezzeret is from Esper, and Saheeli is a Kaladesh native. I'm not that surprised that they're doing the same thing in their art. I mean, they both happen to both be artificer planeswalkers that both specialise in forging artifacts from thin air. Flame Dragon
New Chandra is very powerful, but no where near TMS level. Plus draws cards, minus protects her, and her Ult wins games. The 4th ability is just gravy since it lets you go up the turn you play her and lets you protect her with another spell or creature. They wanted her to be the face of the set, and they delivered. New Tezz art is sweet.

(GigaDrillBreaker)
hmmm. even looking up their info, im still convinced their related somehow.I mean it is completely impossible and illogical, but if you believe hard enough... Forest Fire
I mean it is completely impossible and illogical, but if you believe hard enough... So your saying Magic has never had husbands and wives. k. i mean that isn't exactly the kind of related i was talking about, but there has to be a reason they make artifacts the same way.... unless that's just how they're made in Magic... in which case, i'll shut up. I think what you're trying to say is that Wizard is intentional mirroring the two, and they are doing this to hint at something. Either for something that happens between them in the story or because of how their cards compare. Also, Maro has confirmed that the set has 4 planeswalkers. Saheeli is 1, Chandra is 2, Tezzeret is 3....are they actually doing a Liliana card? We did get a quote from her on another card so...... maaaaybe. unlikely though. this isn't the kind of set she would shine in.

Would be very odd to introduce him and then do nothing with him until the next set. Honestly, with us getting 4 planeswalkers again I feel like we have a VERY small chance at getting 6 walkers again. Rotation removes 7 and the color balance as it stand leaves out both Green and White. We almost always have a 1 to 1 ratio of being able to assign one walker to one color, but we can't here unless Dovin or Tezz end up W (Green makes no sense for either).
