Level 3 WATER Machine-Type Tuner Effect Monster

You can only use the effect of “Crystron Rion” once per turn.

(1) During either your opponent’s Main Phase or Battle Phase: You can target 1 of your banished non-Tuner monsters; Special Summon that monster, but its effects are negated, and if you do, immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon 1 Machine-Type Synchro Monster, using that monster and this card only (this is a Quick Effect). The monsters used for that Synchro Summon are not sent to the Graveyard and are placed on the top of their owners’ Deck instead.

Level 5 WATER Machine-Type Effect Monster

ATK 2000

DEF 1000

You can only use the (1) and (2) effects of “Crystron Sulphafnir” once per turn.

(1) If this card is in the hand or Graveyard: You can discard 1 “Crystron” card from your hand other than “Crystron Sulphafnir”; Special Summon this card in face-up Defense Position. Afterwards, destroy 1 card you control.

(2) If this card on the field is destroyed (by battle or by card effect0: You can Special Summon 1 “Crystron” monster from your Deck in face-up Defense Position.

I still say the archetype could use a couple continuous Spell/Traps of their own to really shine, especially ones that have on-destruction effects. It's a bit of a shame they can't add on much with main deck monsters at this point, since they've used all 5 of the Four Symbols (funny how that works, eh), but at least they made the yellow/golden dragon damn good.

 

Maybe it's time to try these again...

Rion is cute and deals with the problems of running out of synchro options, Sulphafnir however fixes their speed issue and drawing unusable crystrons, not to mention he enables cute setup plays ...

 

These are great support, however they do not fix the decks main problems (though to be fair Sulphafnir fixes the issue of drawing tuners and thus somewhat being forced to run a low amount).

 

Their first issue is that their Spells/Traps do not help setup and even much rather consume setup, so they need Spell/Trap support that actually works to create your setup.

Their second issue however is the lack of decent synchros they could use (and the inability of their targets to actually deal with monsters (their accel synchro is cute and useful, however no answer to monsters)), as well as having only a small number of targets (catastor being the best anti-monster option, which is simply sad).

The problem with sulfur is that there's a good chance you go -1 with it at first.

 

The upside to sulfur is that he's OPT turn a card in hand into E-Tele OR opt turn a card in hand into a level 5 body.

Based on the wording, Sulfafnir is "You can only use each effect once per turn" unlike the others, so it can summon itself, pop itself and float.

 

I still say the archetype could use a couple continuous Spell/Traps of their own to really shine, especially ones that have on-destruction effects. Powerful Rebirth is a very useful one ime, since it's a CotH that doesn't attach itself to the monster.

Seriously guys, have you not noticed the trend?

Quon, the Level 1 Tuner, Special Summons the non-Tuner monster from the hand and sends the Synchro Materials used to the Graveyard (as normal).

Citri, the Level 2 Tuner, Special Summons the non-Tuner monster from the Graveyard and banishes the Synchro Materials used.

Rion, the Level 3 Tuner, Special Summons a banished non-Tuner monster and returns the Synchro Materials to the Deck.

From this, we can easily conclude that the Level 4 Tuner will Special Summon the non-Tuner monster from the Deck and return the Synchro Materials used to the hand!

(Although Rion returns to the top of the Deck so there might actually be a Level 4 Tuner with excavation shenanigans or something of the sort. :3)

 

Edit: Nevermind, Rion was translated incorrectly. RIP Tier 1 Crystrons.

Quon summons from the players hand, however I guess that was just a careless mistake.

From this, we can easily conclude that the Level 4 Tuner will Special Summon the non-Tuner monster from the Deck and return the Synchro Materials used to the hand!

The "trend" is rather obvious and if anything what you mention would be a reason for there not to be a level 4 tuner, because that would be ridiculously unbalanced, considering it would be a "1-card synchro" that even creates advantage for no reason at all.

 

Edit: There are already 3-card circles that are incomplete, though still considered complete (e.g. ouroboros).

I was thinking a 1-card Amorphage Goliath. The Level is juuust right with Onimaru and Goliath itself will prevent you from Synchro Summoning.

 

Edit: There are already 3-card circles that are incomplete, though still considered complete (e.g. ouroboros).

It has to follow Trish though, even if it's called Ouroboros.
