WATER
level 4
Fish/Effect

If you control a WATER monster, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand), but you cannot Special Summon monsters from your hand for the rest of this turn.

Patiently waiting for this to come to the TCG. Perfect tech card for Zielgigas and maybe Nekroz to make Bahamut Shark (aka Toad Shark). It also helps pretty much every deck that runs level 4 WATERs in 3s  to make Toad Shark easier.

Is it really worth giving up Unicore for?

Usually when you make R4s in Nekroz you use Unicore as a Material anyway. Besides, you can recycle Unicore with Treatoad. Unicore isn't optimal when you face some decks too, so having the option is always nice. (or did you mean something else?)

Unicore just seemed like the best card in the deck to me, maybe I'm wrong on that? I've found that converting Unicore into a R4nk isn't always the smartest, but I didn't even think of your idea of using Toad to cycle it. Now I wanna build nekroz haha

Unicore is one of the best Rituals in the Deck yeah, but against decks like Monarchs/Kozmo/Majespecters etc. he doesn't do that much. Also, there are other level 4 WATERs in Nekroz that are used, like Dance Princess, Sorcerer and Zefrasaber, so you won't always have to use Unicore.

I mean, the best deck for it is Mermail. It's a better Taketomborg, just requires timing.

Mermail won't be as strong without it in the TCG, because Aqua Spirit is a good deal worse.

It also has great synergy with Gishki. Gishki Beast is a Bahamut Shark by itself and Silent Angler can be SS'd from the deck with Beatunaful princess too (which is at 2/3 in most Gishki builds already.) It's pretty dope. Summon Toad and proceed to safely take out a Zielgigas or 2.

Gishki may not be the most relevant deck but it can take out Treatoad fairly consistently

yeah, but why care about a bad deck like zielgigas when you can make it in a good deck like mermail

Not to mention that Zielgigas is the worst Gishki variant, because it's far too fair.

It's just some nice indirect support to an otherwise forgotten non-meta deck. And I like it when that happens. Especially to my precious Gishki

And it's not as bad as you think, I've been playing it for 3 years, and Treatoad really boosts it up some tiers.

Another thing to add- Zielgigas itself is Aqua-Type so you can send it as cost for Treatoad's effect instead of Treatoad itself.

Also

Gishki Chain is now very good in Nekroz and works well with Silent Angler for the Bahamut play

I mean, the only time Zielgigas was remotely decent was immediately after the release of Dragons of Legend, where it got access to Mound of the Bound Creator, and it was still a rogue/meme deck.

Gishki is a deck that excels at being completely unfair with loops and sheet, and Zielgigas does something far too fair for that, especially with how it's been creeped. Spin is done better by ignister, who also gives you a Lv. 4 body and doesn't rely on luck, Mound is outclassed by all the other non-targettable/Towers monsters, and so forth.

It's no better than I think it is. It's just the worst Gishki.
