Wind Rider
A Wind Rider RPThe year is 20XX, the digital age has advanced to a point where anything is possible. Cars are driven by wireless computers, digital holograms have produced full 3D imaging for TVs and computers, and best of all, everyone has their very own PET, each with their own NetNavi, a customizable, highly intelligent AI program that is capable of many tasks. But within this technological paradise, there are darker things at work, evil people who would want nothing more than to turn man against machine and to cause total anarchy. If and when these people decide to reveal themselves to the world, there will be those who will stop at nothing to put a halt to the anarchy that would soon ensue. Take the plunge and jack into the Internet.[spoiler=Important Terms]PET: A handheld device that houses a person's NetNavi and all its collected data. The PET features a connector cord for jacking into the cyberworld through any compatible terminal and can even jack into an arena for netbattling up to 12 people.Battle Chips: Data storage chips that a NetOp can insert into their PET to provide combat support for their NetNavi. Battle Chips come in a variety of moves, abilities, and skills for the NetNavi to use, some being more compatible with the NetNavi than others.NetNavi: An artificial intelligence program designed for use in dailylife or in the cyberworld. NetNavis come in a variety of designs, each created for a certain task, NetNavis in PETs however, are designed to do multiple tasks and to assist the Operator.Viruses: Bugs and glitches in the cyberworld that when left unattended, can cause major problems in and outside the cyberworld. Viruses can be combated by NetNavis to stop and even delete them, but some viruses are stronger than others and may need to be contained within a controlled environment before they can be deleted.Pheta/Delta Project: An old project that was in development by Hybrid Labs. The project's intent was to create two NetNavis that could house all of the world's data and pretty much serve as wardens of the cyberworld. The project went downhill however when a bug was detected in each of the NetNavis systems and a call was made for their deletion. Hybrid Labs succeeded in getting rid of one of the programs but the other was lost to the cyberworld. The project was soon dropped and no attempt was made to revive it.[spoiler=Important Locations]Eclisse Town: A large town on the outskirts of Rete City, it has a peaceful atmosphere to it. The town gets its name from the yearly eclipse that happens here, the eclipse lasts for about an hour and produces a nice blue ray of light that envelopes the town. It is on the day of the eclipse, that a tournament is held to see who the town's netbattler champ will be for the year.Hybrid Labs: A large facility in the center of Rete City that houses the best and strongest technology in the world. Hybrid Labs hopes to create a better future for mankind and NetNavis alike, and the head of the facility, Dr. Lanceforth, heads the facility's most classified projects. Hybrid Labs is also responsible for the new PET and NetNavi models, introducing new features to Netbattlers around the world.Rete City: A large city that's home to Hybrid Labs and the biggest Netbattlers Tournament in the world. Most of the world's top Netbattlers made it big in this city's Soluna Tournament as such the city is ripe with goods and products for upcoming Netbattlers.[spoiler=NetNavi Types][spoiler=Null]The Null element is by far, the most common type of element found among Net Navis, as well as the typical base element most Navis come in before being customized by their operator. Although Navis of this element might not seem all too impressive at first glance, they have a few intrinsic features which separate them from the rest. For one, while they do not have any significant advantages over the other elements, they have no significant weaknesses against them either. This translates into Null Navis being able to both deal and receive a decent amount of damage to and from programs of different elements. A Null Navi’s physical attributes, such as speed, strength, and durability, are fairly balanced, meaning they can be trained in virtually any field and combat style provided they have the capability (and a smart operator). On that note, Null type Navis have a significant utility potential; they can be customized in any way their operator sees fit without having to completely rewrite their data, and they can make use of various kinds of programs and battle chips without having to worry about negative side effects. In short, Null Navis are “jacks of all trades” with the potential to become specialized in any given field or combat style. That, however, takes time and effort, and as such, are often outpaced by Net Navis customized and specialized in a specific element and field/combat style.Notable Perks: No weaknesses, great utility and customizability, balanced stats.Drawbacks: Takes a significant amount of time and effort for Null Navis to become specialized in a particular field, element, or combat style. They are therefore prone to being outclassed by Navis created with innate ability and mastery of a particular field, element, or combat style.[spoiler=Elec]If speed is something that you value, then look no further than the Elec Element. Their speed and agility is unmatched, able to outmaneuver all the other Elements on the ground. Their attacks, based on reallife electricity, have a tendency to temporarily affect their opponents' motor functions, sometimes even going as far as paralysing them. A drawback to their incredible speed is their incredible frailty, being objectively the weakest in taking damage as well as dealing it, so much so that even WoodElement attacks can blow them away. Even with such a glaring weakness, Elec Navis are still a formidable foe catching the unprepared off guard. With their lightningfast attacks and their trademark paralysing abilities, dealing with Elec Navis is a task for the foolhardy, able to chip through the defenses of Aqua Navis at an incredible fast rate.Notable Perks: Fastest Navi Type. Able to temporarily paralyse opponents, including BreakType Navis.[spoiler=Wood]Wood Type Navis tend to be extremely bulky, more so than even Break Navis. This is especially true when they battle within a wooded environment, able to use the grass underneath their feet to steadily regain health lost, making them a difficult adversary to defeat. Some are even able to affect the environment around them, making even the most barren of areas full of lush greenery. With their bulk however, comes at a loss of speed, making them the secondslowest out of the nine Elements. Their upfront damage is also low, preferring to deal damage over time with poisons and the like, which are able to deal an immense amount of damage as the fight goes on. And just like actual wood, they are extremely vulnerable to Fire attacks. Despite these weaknesses, their ability to heal themselves at will and to win wars of attrition make them a formidable enemy, their regeneration sometimes outpacing what ElecType Navis can deal, hence outlasting them.[spoiler=Fire]FireType Navis are known to deal the most overall damage out of all the Elemental Types at all ranges. The majority of Navis usually employs a battle strategy that involves blocking their opponent of with persisting flames so as to force them to take the full brunt of their normally devastating attacks. Though they're extremely powerful when it comes to attacks, they are essentially glass-cannons when it comes to durability, able to take less hits than even the Sword Elements. They aren't built to be extremely fast, ending up slightly slower than the average NullType Navi, but they tend to exhibit a decently large amount of reach to compensate. The amount of damage they put out is something to be feared, especially among Wood Navis.Notable Perks: Highest Elemental Damage Output. Able to cause extreme damage to their environments.[spoiler=Aqua]The Aqua Element is a wellrounded one, is Navis able to employ a variety of strategies on their own. Whether it be using bubbles to protect themselves, entrapping opponent's with said bubbles, freezing the field to give enemies the slip or just outright freezing their opponents, AquaType Navis are the second-most versatile when it comes to combat options, able to affect both their opponent and the environment to cover their weaknesses. Aqua Navis are the third bulkiest class, falling just under the Wood and Break Elements, as a result of this, they also tend to be the third slowest. Their damage also tends to be lacking, preferring to inflict statuses upon their opponents. Their waterbased abilities tend to be a nuisance, especially to the incredibly vulnerable Fire ElementNotable Perks: Able to move on ice without slipping. Can submerge themselves in water to avoid damage.Addendum: Water class Aqua programs will be faster than Ice class programs, while Ice class programs will be slower, but much stronger. Water class programs are still fairly strong, but in their ranged aqua attacks.[spoiler=Cursor]Cursor Navis have two thing in mind upon conception: Power and Range. Nothing else matters to them more than being able to hit their enemies with the utmost accuracy and precision from a variety of ranges. They have the farthest effective range out of all the Elements, outranging even the longreaching Wind Element, without the drawback of losing power over distance. Whether you're hiding behind cover or invisible, they can and will find you and are able to attack you with the same amount of potency as though you were standing out in the open with a giant target strapped to your body. While Cursor Navis excel at attacking their opponent from anywhere, the equipment that they usually tote around make it difficult to do so while moving and if their opponent manages to close the gap is becomes extremely problematic for them, for they are not the most defensivelyadept. They also have the keen ability to spot any weak points on their opponents and exploit them, able to make even the tankiest BreakType Navi recoil at their attacks.Notable Perks: Farthest Reaching Attacks. Able to see hidden enemies, whether they're behind cover or not, piercing through or even completely circumventing obstacles. Able to make any type of Navi flinch.[spoiler=Wind]Wind Type Navis have a lot going for them in quite a few places. While perhaps not the fastest Element, they aren't anything to scoff at either, boasting a great deal of range in their attacks, and though they are lacking in the damage department the strength of some attacks are able to blow even the heaviest of objects around if they're not firmly rooted to the ground. One important thing to note however, the farther they are when they attack, the less powerful the attacks become. The majority of this Element has an innate flying ability that allows them more freedom of movement than any its competitors. This includes the ability to avoid hazards that may be in the field around them, such as landmines and poison gas. It also lets them to be built a little more bulkier, allowing them to take a few more hits than other Elements. The wind they are able to produce are as unpredictable as it is in real life, which tend to mess with the nighinfallible aim of CursorType Navis.Notable Perks: Unaffected by the environment around them outside of buildings and other obstacles. Able to manipulate almost any object that isn't rooted. Auras and Barriers are useless against them.[spoiler=Sword]Sword Element Navis are extremely powerful, their damage output second only to Fire Navis. These Navis use their light and agile frames, innate speed and, close-ranged attacks to overwhelm opponents who prefer to keep a distance. While quick and nimble, they are also on the more fragile side of the spectrum when it comes to durability, only able to take a few powerful and direct hits before having to Log Out or risk being Deleted. Their limited attack range doesn't help either, for obvious reasons. They tend to circumvent this lack of range through raw speed and agility to close the gap, going invisible to flank their opponent, or using illusions to trick the eye. Their sharp blades, able to slice through air, can also rend WindType Navis asunder.Notable Perks: Strongest closeranged fighters. One of the best Elements when it comes to utility.[spoiler=Break]Break Element Navis tend to be more on the bulky side, able to dish out almost as much as they can take in terms of damage. However, they are quite possibly the least mobile Type and tend to be lacking in range. This type of Navi tends to be a great counter to SwordTypes, both offensively and defensively.Notable Perks: Able to take most sources of damage without flinching; able to smash through their surroundings as well as any physical shields (only exception being Metallic Environments). ChampionZero
[spoiler=ΩmegaTeck]Name: Karlos MendezAge: 21Gender: MaleAppearance: Karlos stands at 6'2". His long black hair is held in a waist-length braid, commonly tucked into a jacket or coat. His eyes are bright green, and he has a scar running from the corner of his mouth to his ear, making it look like he's smiling grotesquely. He has an incredibly fit physique, making him very imposing whenever his arms are uncovered. He wears a bandanna or scarf around his neck, and it's often of remarkably vivid color, in contrast with his theme of black-and-grey clothing. Personality: Karlos is fluid, to say the least. He talks only to people he's familiar with, and even then he remains vague in terms of provided details. He dodges around questions and attempts to keep conversations on one track: his. He does treat his NetNavi, Darkling with some degree of kindness, praising her when she does what he asks properly. But the other side is his scolding remarks, for both Darkling and others who invoke his ire. He has no significant other, so any emotions towards such a person is unknown. Karlos does show the odd tendency to change personalities depending on his company, and will even let some people in on said personality changes, dividing the people he surrounds himself with into levels of trust, or so it seems. These can range from a friendly discussion among friends, to an enigmatic figure to his employees and business partners, to an overworked, charming young CEO for the public eye. As such, whether he has a central personality is unknown, but it is often said that he is a man of many faces. Biography: Karlos grew up under rich, but scatterbrained parents. He could leave the house for weeks at a time and they'd never notice! As a child, he thus failed to establish a loving relationship with his family, but learned quite a bit about programming and the digital world of NetNavi's. When his parents got older, he had to take over their tech company, OmegaTeck, as the two fell ill and soon died in rapid succession. With the entirety of the company under his command, he set them on two projects. The first was making games and simulations for commercial use, selling them to other companies or publishing them for the public to enjoy. The second project was... more secretive, involving the creation of NetNavi's. So far, no one outside "OmegaTeck" knows about it. Soon enough, Karlos personally designed Darkling, his own NetNavi and right-hand woman. Darkling was modified to perform far more complex tasks than the average NetNavi. Darkling and Karlos are, so far, the only ones in on the purpose behind Karlos' projects and even Darkling doesn't know much, but she does what she's told and asks very few questions, and Karlos seems to like it that way. NetNavi Partner: Darkling (A portmanteau of Darling and Dark)Misc: Karlos has some kind of candy addiction. He's never seen without something sweet to snack on, and he seems to prefer licorice, but not the original flavor. This contrasts with his personality sharply, but he pretends not to notice. Name: DarklingGender: Feminine Appearance: This NetNavi's armor is entirely black, save for her ever-changing eyes, the color often corresponding to her emotions. She's average height, heavily armored for a NetNavi, and slightly hunched over, making her appear shorter. capable of absorbing other intelligent programs, as per special modifications made by Karlos. Her armor is smooth and curved, matching her very carefully designed form. She also wears a cloak of sorts that hides who she is. Personality: Darkling is loyal to the core*. This silhouette of a program refuses to obey anyone except Karlos, and carries out his orders with unnatural zeal. She accepts praise proudly, when she does well, but cowers and becomes upset when she makes mistakes or misinterprets Karlos' orders. In this way, she is like a child, knowing when something has gone wrong and immediately fearing punishment. If her objective is obstructed, she gets very upset. Otherwise, she is a skilled fighter, working hard and smart to fell her enemies. As such, she prefers straightforward assignments, like "attack this NetNavi" or "cause general chaos." Finally, it would seem she's a little juvenile, easily making poor judgement calls and even naming some of her attacks out loud in combat. Type: NullAbilities: Darkling's standard weapons are extremely varied, but lack elemental types. She does use weapons of some elements, but only when authorized by Karlos. Also,Karlos has modified Darkling so she can carry viruses he's made to certain locations and deploy them, but has no control over their actions at that point. She can, however, absorb weaker NetNavi's and other programs and temporarily turn their data into a unique weapon that corrodes as it is used. She can only absorb one program at a time this way.Misc: Darkling's armor comes off to reveal textures not unlike human skin, and on her back, she has a pattern shaped like a Spider made of Greek letters, with four Omega symbols for legs, and a Theta for a body. *Wrote "code" the first time, a convenient typo. Wind Rider
Champion, as i see it, your app needs some changes, you need to put a little bit more work into your character's personality and background. Darkling also needs some work because as far as i can see she has doublesoul and the get ability program, which are things that shouldn't be a thing that any of our netnavis should do, also unless you want karlos and darkling to be bad guys, please refrain from giving her the ability to make viruses. Your characters are interesting but you may need to change them up, fix up karlos personality a bit and make it more detailed, and change darkling's abilities and you should be good

Your characters are interesting but you may need to change them up, fix up karlos personality a bit and make it more detailed, and change darkling's abilities and you should be good IMO, virus spawning is okay so long as there's a good reason for it (i.e they're from the Undernet or have access to "VirusPet" chips). The ability absorption thing she has going on can be made acceptable so long as its toned down. I'm thinking that it should be edited to be treated as a temporary absorption power; Darkling can absorb the abilities and strength of one program, but must give those abilities up to absorb another. In the end, the absorbed powers will eventually fade away, leaving her as her regular self.
ÆƵ–
Interest checked with a really heavy WIP because it's late AF[spoiler=(Spell)Bookworm]Name: Denika Haldrazil (Den-ih-kuh Hall-druh-zeel)Age: 30Gender: Female[spoiler=Appearance:] Personality: (at least a paragraph, spoiler this)Biography: (at least two paragraphs, spoiler this)NetNavi Partner: AengilMisc: (themes, fun facts, and/or trivia, spoiler this) [spoiler=Caring Colossus] Name: AengilGender: ERROR 404: Gender.exe not found (they/them pronouns)[spoiler=Appearance:] A hulking mass of divine bulk, Aengil is one of the largest NetNavis known to date. A real-life model would likely be the size of a single story house, at least. With ornate golden armor adorning nearly their entire body, Aengil is a sight to behold in battle. Their wings are made of the same material as the armor, and as such, do not function as normal wings would. But the most obvious thing about Aengil is the multitude of faces the posses. With 11 faces all together, 8 on the front, 1 on the back, and 2 facing the ground, Aengil may seem like a holy monstrosity to anyone who looks closely. [spoiler=Personality:]Aengil is, for lack of a better word, angelic. Through they may look intimidating, what with the many faces and colossal size, they are nothing short of a pure hearted program. Being programmed as a guide Navi, Aengil is always the one to attempt to help. They're knowledgeable on a variety of subjects, but especially those of the occult and divine. They are soft-spoken, in sharp contrast to their appearance, and speak in a soothing baritone. That said, Aengil is also a bit naive. They were programmed to believe that everyone has a second chance. And a third chance. and a fourth chance... They will forgive and forget so easily that it is scary how they rationalize things. Type: Break[spoiler=Abilities:]Divine Protection:Aengil is able of calling forth a shield about half their size (surface area). This shield is able to stop attacks, as well as be used as a weapon itself (a la capitan america). However, while it is out, Aengil cannot move at all, making it risky to rely on it alone. Blessed Bulk:Staying true to their Break-typing, Aengil has an enormous amount of HP, but their agility suffers greatly from it. Due to this, they can tank an enormous amount of damage before needing to jack out/ heal. Prophet of Icarus:Aengil is able to fly, though not very fast. Not only that, but they are able to launch the metallic feathers from their wings as missiles. Judgement of Paradise:Aengil's size isn't only just for bulk, but for brain as well. Aengil is able to analyze the terrain of a battlefield within seconds, making note of any potential advantages or disadvantages it may have.[spoiler=Misc:] Main Theme: Battle Theme:
Wind Rider
[spoiler=Apprentice Magician]Name: Caelam BridgerAge: 14Gender: Male[spoiler=Appearance]Caelam stands at about 5'2" and weighs around 100 lbs. He has dark brown hair and hazel colored eyes. He's usually wearing a black T-shirt and worn blue jeans, but when he's performing tricks or wants to show off in a netbattle he wears a blue magician's outfit with a black top hat. [spoiler=Personality]Caelam has a very colorful disposition and almost always has a smile on his face. He has a laid back attitude and feels that everyone deserves some happiness in their lives. It's to this end that he finds joy in his hobby of being a magician. Caelam also is not a fan of loud noises and can usually be seen hanging around the park enjoying the peace and quiet. When Caelam is in his magician act, he behaves in a tricky manner, speaking and acting in a way that makes people believe he's about to make a performance out of a situation. When in a netbattle, Caelam uses a variety of tricky strategies to keep his partner Roulettewoman, from sustaining a lot of damage. Caelam also treats Roulettewoman as somewhat of a step sister, because of what she did to help him break out of his shell in his younger days, and doesn't like to see her stressed or in pain. [spoiler=Biography]When Caelam was still very young, his mother had passed away from an uncurable disease, leaving Caelam's father to look after him. This of course, was easier said than done, as most of the time, Caelam's father was usually either busy working at Hybrid Labs, or on long business trips. As his father was gone most of the time, Caelam was left in the care of his aunt and uncle, a kind pair of people who have lived in Eclisse Town for a good while. Despite his aunt and uncle's company, Caelam felt alone without his father, and the times his father came back for a while were treated as a holiday for him, quite fitting, because on Caelam's tenth birthday, his father gifted him something very special, a NetNavi. The NetNavi's name was Roulettewoman, and she was specifically designed by Caelam's father to help ease Caelam's loneliness and to play with him while Caelam's father was gone. Roulettewoman had a magician's assistant vibe to her, and her tricks always gave Caelam a smile, so much in fact, that Caelam developed a hobby with his NetNavi, being a magician. As the "Network Magician", Caelam could play along with Roulettewoman's tricks, and he obtained somewhat of a reputation at his school. It was all thanks to his father, and someday, Caelam wishes that he could create a huge performance for his dad and all of Eclisse Town. NetNavi Partner: Roulettewoman[spoiler=Misc] [spoiler=Magician's Assistant]Name: RoulettewomanGender: Feminine[spoiler=Appearance] [spoiler=Personality]As she was programmed to be an entertainment navi, Roulettewoman can't stand to see anyone with a sad look on their face. She tries her best to cheer up those around her with a variety of tricks and feels a good sense of pride when she succeeds. RW also helps out her operator Caelam when he starts performing his tricks, always making sure to put some extra dazzle into his performance.RW doesn't see herself as much of a combatant, but she tries her best when in a battle for the sake of keeping up a performance with Caelam. However, RW has an irrational fear of viruses and would need some convincing/encouragement before she'll try to fight a virus. Type: Cursor[spoiler=Abilities]Top Hat Vanish: Being a Cursor type, Roulettewoman is a little on the frail side, so she makes use of a giant top hat as a means of getting out of a bad situation. Using this giant top hat, RW can jump into it and vanish for a couple seconds, reappearing a short distance away from her original position. Ace Joker: Roulettewoman uses razor sharp playing cards as throwing weapons. When these playing cards make contact with an opponent, they will explode with enough force to stun any type of netnavi. Fortune Wheel: Roulettewoman creates a large roulette wheel that she spins across the ground, like a tire. This attack is similar to a yo-yo attack, as in if it makes contact with an opponent, it will continue to deal a set amount of damage before returning to RW. [spoiler=Misc]Main Theme: https://youtu.be/HxY1nH8jSnkBattle Theme: Because her name is a bit of a mouth full, Caelam just calls her RW.
