Is your brain Republican or Democrat?

I thought this was pretty interesting, this quiz of 27 non-political scenarios can apparently predict which political party you're more aligned to within 98% accuracy: http://chartsme.com/

[spoiler=The reasoning. (Read after taking the quiz.)]According to ChartsMe, recent studies have found that people who were more prone to disgust are more conservative. This leads them to more closely align with the Republican Party. Some scientists believe it’s ancestral and that the adverse reactions to conditions we’d label “disgusting” were used to protect primitive ancestors from contamination and disease. This way a person wouldn’t confuse drinking water with dirty pond scum. But if the test told you that you’re a Republican, you probably won’t accept that explanation because studies show you probably don’t believe in evolution.

I think it had me down pretty good, putting me as a Democrat with 39% conservative and 61% liberal. What did you get, and do you agree with it? What do you think of the reasoning behind the quiz?

I sort of understand the premise behind the test, but it's honestly extremely flawed in which you don't give any reasoning as to why you do or do not have disgust, and in politics things aren't as clear-cut as yes/no. That being said, it is true that most Republicans oppose most new legislation.

I was 62% Conservative, and I agree with the flaws.

A big issue I have is how strong the word disgust is (for example, Cat question), and how it works on the premise that... if you try to avoid being dirty you're conservative? I get the logic is "evolution", but even that logic is shaky, considering humanity would naturally adapt to learning these behaviors, and it doesn't have a guaranteed association with full blown evolution. It feels like a stretch to say so.

And the idea that republicans are "Disgusted" instead of simply, say, unnerved seems really funking biased.

I mean, the quiz was really biased and worded like sheet, but if you aren't disgusted by touching a dead cat, that is on you :P

You missed my point.

I would be unnerved by picking up a dead cat. I'm very, very squeamish. But it doesn't DISGUST me, it breaks my heart. To say "disgust" in that example seems rather hyperbolic.

Saw this on reddit a couple weeks ago, I think I got something like 88% liberal, 12% conservative.

My only problem with this is that the feeling of disgust is quite often involuntary and we have little to no control over it. Some people are naturally less sensitive than others, but nobody is born with a political orientation.

Apparently i'm a Republican 61% and a liberal 30%. These question having to do with what I found disgusting were pretty much skewed because I am a bit germaphobic. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of liberals who are as well. Also some of these I didn't find disgusting but rather distasteful and embarrassing.

Like this captures my feelings perfectly. I'm extremely squeamish. It's not so much that the things described in the test disgust, but make me feel extremely uncomfortable.
