Chain Link Paleozoic

 After long amounts of experimentation before they were known as Paleozoic in TCG... I was playing with the idea that these guys would synergize well with Chain Link related cards, and lo and behold, I finally found a way to abuse a Lightning Punisher/ Iris, The Earth Mother loop as a result of this.

 

The main gist of the Deck is you play Paleozoic like you normally would, but you have 2 amazing Reasoning/ Monster Gate targets being Lightning Punisher, and Iris, The Earth Mother... And if you draw Reasoning/ Monster Gate while you still have at least 1 of your targets in the Deck, you can potentially mill a bunch of Paleozoic cards and chainable Graveyard traps, on top of getting Lighting or Iris. With this in mind, you can pull off Lighting"s or Iris's effects several times in 1 turn due to the chainable nature of Paleozoics, and the Graveyard traps.

 

One thing to note though... If you want to make the most of your resources and get either a huge plus (Iris) , or minus your opponent (Lightning Punisher). You want to resolve each Chain Links at 3 as much as possible, then proceed to start a new chain after Lightning or Iris resolve their effect.

* Now I know some of you are going to give me s*** about this one... Why run this when you can run Aegis of the Ocean Dragon Lord? Well I just prefer Roar when it comes to either the Extra Deck monsters, or Lighting/ Iris.

*Treatoad can't send the Main Deck Paleozoics to the Grave so I cut it to 1.

** Just add it... Because I was stupid not to in the 1st place, and if gives your Extra Deck more things to potentially do.

Anyhow... This deck may take time for some of you to understand it if you haven't played with the Chain Link mechanic much, but once you learn it: the deck can be a lot of fun.

+3 Waboku

 

You can activate it in your turn, which can be really helpful.

 

I'd also try to fit in some Legacy of Yata Garasu, which functions as extra Jar of Greed.

Reckless Greed is also something I'd try out. This deck seems to win or lose depending on its access to Reasoning/Monster Gate.

 

And I know it's very costly, but I might even consider Left Arm Offering, just because of how explosive the deck can be once you do get the Reasoning/Monster Gate off.

Why main deck gnomes? Monarchs nor Kozmos particularly give a s*** about it. Not sure how good your matchup with them is.

 

more Anti-Spell Fragrance would be nice. 

It has less to do with Gnomes level decreasing effect, and more to do with the folloiwng:

  • It's effect Graveyard effect is readily available even after the a Reasoning or Monster Gate mill which offers more potential Chain Links for Lightning Punisher's or Iris, the Earth Mothers effect due to how chainable Gnomes is.
  • You can decrease the levels of Lightning Punisher/ Iris to Summon them with 1 less Tribute if they end up in your hand.
  • And it can hinder your opponent's Xyz and Synchro plays when timed right.

As for Anti-Spell Fragrance, add more to your liking, but I only run 1 cause I want more room for chainables.

Thanks for some of these suggestions... While the Deck may seem like it is dependent on Reasoning/ Monster Gate from how I might have made it out to be, it really isn't. You basically play the Palezoic portion of your Deck a lot more if you don't get Reasoning/ Monster Gate, it is just really nice if you get Reasoning/ Monster Gate early game. Though admittedly the Deck is subject to brick starting hands with a lot of the Graveyard Traps... So I might add more Reckless Greed.
