LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
What traits make a leader a good one? What leaders do you believe to be good, and why? Alternatively what are things to avoid when leading?Do their legacy matter? Can a good leader have a poor legacy, can a poor leader have a good legacy? Does it matter what people think of them? These are just some of the questions that can be asked for this topic, feel free to discuss leadership as a whole. Βyakuya
To be a good leader, you don't really need to have credentials, but rather willingness to put yourself forward, placing yourself responsible for many actions, and being charismatic. But there is a huge importance when it comes to the dynamic between a leader and their other members or followers. A leader must be able to understand how everyone else feels makes quick and smart judgments that benefsit everyone. The feedback from the leader-group relationship makes the leader appear more legitimate and trustworthy and thus those people can all be lead confidently to accomplish their goals. The dynamics of this and the tasks involving this definitely vary between jobs and activities.
Raine
Good leaders are demagogues. They keep people happy and do what we want even if it's not good for us. Great leaders are those beacons or light that literally "lead" people to quote unquote better place. Hitler would probably fall into this group though but you can't spell infamy without... fam...ous? Leaders who are altruistic heroes among heroes among men are so few and far between that they're insignificant to most people, let alone the sheer inability to have humanity focus on anything besides selfish impulses and bigotry kind of stems their flow into politics. I mean, there are easier alternatives to save and lead people and they're much more comparatively plentiful in literature, sciences, and other dedicated causes. Leaders exist in every field, some are even beyond great, but the idea of Pluto's philosopher king style great political leader is virtually irrelevant in democratic politics. Hell, no one would vote for Jesus if he ran. He'd probably be soft on crime anyways. Say what you want about kings, sometimes you got a good one... and then his shitty son. Okay, kings are still a bad idea.
