Activate by sending 1 face-up Synchro monster you control to the Graveyard when your opponent Summons a monster. Negate that Summon and destroy that card. Your opponent cannot Summon a monster until the End Phase of this turn.

well this thing is among my favorite cards as far as artwork and payoff for effect goes. the problem though, is the condition to activate. you have to give up one of your synchro monsters, for what may or may not be a decent result. and unless i'm mistaken, it works similarly to thunder king, so you can't even chain it to kozmo pilots. not a bad card, but synchros are not fast enough yet to justify running it yet imo. so discuss, what potential does this card have in the game, where the summon ceiling of the meta is getting so high that you have no choice but to run floodgates or get washed away.

I ran it in speedroids awhile back.

An easy way to get effects off of chanbarider and synergizes well with the other Speedroid synchros since they either float or can be brought back easily.

Outside of that it seems kinda "meh".

Tho even in speedroids I've only seen like 3 people run this. (Myself not included because I had saw it in a video and wanted to try it).

Can you chain it to the summon of a Kozmo Ship? I'm not surprised that you can't negate a Kozmo Pilot, since they're activating an effect, not in the summon window.

I think this card definitely has potential. If you fail to make Quasar and need to keep a little momentum, just use this to stop all of your opponent's plays. Perf.

that's what i meant. i believe this wouldn't be useable in that scenario. but my head blanked out for a second.

Oh. Yeah, it says Rai-Oh only negates Inherent Summons.

The effects of "Thunder King Rai-Oh", "Black Horn of Heaven", "Solemn Judgment", and similar cards can only be activated when a monster Special Summons itself without starting a Chain, such as when a Special Summon monster Special Summons itself.

Spell Speed 3 and locking out future summons is very promising, but the reliance on a Synchro monster sort of makes it a bit non-viable. It's only best fitted for a turbo-ish Synchro deck that can churn out good opening plays. Yang Zings fit the criteria for this, but they can search their own new counter trap with ease. The other thing is that the Synchros have to be very expendable and floaty. Speedroids fit the bill but they lack a lot of power in general.

People will just run Strike instead. In some scenarios, hitting summons and effects for only -1.5k is fine enough; negating a summon where it matters like a Ehther/Erebus/Idea NS, Pendulum Summon, NS of any Kozmo (assuming no E-Tele) can already be devastating and chances of having other summons may not be too apparent. The dual use is too good.

This seems like it could be neat with Goyo Defender. Make Defender, pop out two more, use 2 to make Meliae/Levair/Invoker or something and do shenanigans, then set this and use the 3rd Goyo to prevent your opponent from getting out any monsters to beat over your playmaker Xyz.

It's probably way too gimmicky, but it seems cool on paper.
