It isn't about money. It is about enjoying yourself and doing what can make you happy. That is why people work to find jobs they could enjoy. That is what made this person do what they did, because they needed a change in their own life that would bring them join and something different. Hell, if this person dropped everything to go back to school, it would be a different story, but leave the guy even more bankrupt.

mmmk but now he's bumming off of his friends and has no income. he's essentially committing suicide.

Unless he gets another job soon, or he has the funds to keep going like this, he's a goner.

This is considering he could always just play the game while still being employed and having a steady flow of income.

I guess it's just me, but this seems rash and immature. He's gonna go two months without earning any money, even though he still has to buy food and pay for his cellular bill.

I...guess it could be a worse idea. It's not too much different from quitting job to go backpacking or similar. Some people want to tour a country or travel long distance, so...

But the headline makes it sound like he's a lot dumber. He's not just playing Go in like...his local neighborhood. He's traveling REALLY far distances across a country, which does make it more of a reasonable venture, with Go as the incentive to get up and do it, as opposed to an idle dream you'll never pursue.

That's where I think you don't know anything about going for your dream and working for it, because you're comparing this to suicide. Suicide is an end game, where you can't come back. This guy will collapse on himself, fall to something, but if he wants to find a place to be happy and be happy with his life, he will work to become something more. It is a crisis that this man is entering because of the consistent levels of pain that he has dealt with, and a change of pace is something more. Honestly, these things happen and people break because they are looking for something to give them a new sense of excitement and change and people deal with it in their own manners.

It is rash and mature, but don't know what exactly is going to happen and what this man is going to do. You only know what he is doing at this current moment. It is actually a step to change is life, and most likely for the better once something more comes along. During times like these, people are going to be looking for what they want out of life other than what they already have, and this is an escape from that moment. This person will only pit himself into a realm of problems until he can figure out what he truly wants and where he is truly going to go and how he is going to go to where he wants.

This is only a downfall to something more. People grow from being put against the worse and people put themselves there. This isn't suicide, because he still has opportunity to get himself out of this situation and learn from everything that he put himself in. This is a stepping stone. Not a good one, but it is something that could overall help him.

He is going out into the world, literally exploring it and taking in what most people don't have the guts to do or even know how to do just that. This is an adventure with Pokemon GO being the ignition to get the guy running, and get his dreams going. I appreciate this guy because he actually is doing something with his life than finding the bear minimum and sticking with it, as it is not something he enjoyed. Life isn't about being able to get by and live accordingly to that measure. Life should be about experiencing all that can bring a smile to your face. It is about doing what you enjoy and finding out what you enjoy, taking in as much as you can and not letting yourself just find comfort if you can't fully find a sense of happiness out of it.

At first I was expecting this to be incredibly stupid but it turned out to be alright. The guy just wanted an adventure and he then found his reason, to catch pokemon. If hes already up to 90 caught then hes obviously content with his choice in life and is right now out free living his life to what he feels is to his best. Criticize him as much as you want but it is true that the man is out there living his life free of his stressful restraints for a while and letting off his steam while getting to do something that he loves and maybe even getting some sights to see along the way.
