Armed Robbers used Pokemon Go to find victims.

Recommended Posts

The game was a good idea on paper, but with stuff like happening, I'm starting to question it. I really am. People are going to insane lengths to look for and catch Pokemon, and in this case, some people are just plain exploiting it.

I mean, yeah there's gonna be sheet like this, and yeah there are gonna be people being stupid. But in general it really is just a fun game that gets people out and about and socializing and stuff. The benefits outweigh the flaws be far.

Yeah, you gotta point there.

You just gotta be careful and use your brain.

Something like this was bound to happen eventually. I honestly think that it was a mistake making people go to X to get certain pokemon, instead of just making you go to only places like Gamestop or Walmart to get exclusives and just use a trading system from there.

I mean, in a town in Australia, you had to go to a police station for a Sandshrew, so the department had to make a statement asking people not to enter the station or something like that.

Ehhhhh, that sounds way more boring than actually going around and exploring. Again, I think having a better game that even has benefits (exercise!) is worth the risk of people abusing it.

Dunno about that. If it's putting people's safety at risk more and more often, then it will pose a problem. However, I feel that most people will be smart about it. These incidents only represent a minority of players.

Still, safety comes first. Again, most probably realize that, but it is important to stress that.

I sincerely doubt it's gonna be that big of an issue. It may seem like it is because the robberies and whatever are what's gonna be in the news, but I'd bet a lot of money the vast, vast majority of the time there won't be problems.

Pokemon GO is fun and enjoyable, but can be dangerous at the same time, since it is situated in the real world, not the game world where everyone acts with composure.....

Some accidents have been tied to this game, including a deadly car crash....

And the worst thing so far is abusing the software search and find system to hunt for victims.....since many of us have downloaded this app

Well, my future ides to make this game safer is to make a special area for catching Pokemon, which has multiple exciting obstacle or create a closed environment similar to those in Pokemon games, that way a Pokemon will appear in a safe place, not in the sewers or dark alleys.....

Holocaust Museum to visitors: Please stop catching Pokémon here

One image circulating online appears to show a player encountering an unsettling digital critter inside the museum: a Pokémon called Koffing that emits poisonous gas floating by a sign for the museum's Helena Rubinstein Auditorium. The auditorium shows the testimonials of Jews who survived the gas chambers.

Another instance in which Go has backfired. Personally, I can't see it sustaining the same levels of hype 3-4 months out. If it's anything like what happened with Ingress, it'll become increasingly difficult for newer players to advance, so the number of people joining will drop below those who grow tired of it and leave.

I just view that as plain disrespectful, even if they didn't mean it.

crime will be an issue regardless. advising caution, and having police patrol related areas a bit more frequently would likely clear up the problem somewhat. some people are going to get caught up, but that is the criminals fault, not the victim.
