I know there's a ton of policing issues in the country, but it's nice to see some kind gestures for a change instead of people saying "f*** the Police".

 

In any case, what do you think of this? How's your local department? Note that I'm okay with you mentioning an incident in your area or whatever, that's fine. Just please don't make that the main topic.

It's pretty tough to answer the question of what police should do to improve community relations without suggesting they stop killing and otherwise abusing people in custody. Condolences to the families of the officers who were shot, it's a gruesome incident, but that doesn't change the fact that the police is still a terrible organisation in need of some serious reform.

Even if nationally, the guidelines change, it's still going to take an effort for relations to improve.

 

Though, I get what you mean. A lot of this traces back to trigger happy/corrupt cops.
