Do you watch Youtube videos?  If so, who is your favorite Youtuber and why?

1. Yes, I watch Youtube videos.

2. Currently, my favorite Youtuber is DeFinch (recently discovered her)

3. She is my favorite Youtuber because:

-She plays my favorite FPS game, Overwatch.

-She has such a happy personality.

I think I'm a big fan of Petard.  He plays the games I prefer, even if he plays them on an irregular basis.  But when he does, he's always shown me something new and interesting, even with his terrible humor.  I happen to laugh every time either way xD.

Professor Milk is hilarious and underrated if you like League.

In a Nutshell is the best educational channel because it tackles big picture things and makes them digestible.

VSauce1 blows my mind much better than shitters like Neil Degrasi Tyson do.

Casually Explained is funny as hell.

All four of those channels haven't sacrificed quality to push out more content.

TeamFourStar has always made me laugh with DBZ Abridged and it's cool to see them both getting better at it and expanding into other projects as well.

I like LittleKuriboh a lot too, but he's working through a lot of issues right now and hasn't been able to focus on generating as much content as he'd like.

GRArkada is my favorite anime reviewer on YouTube; he expresses himself eloquently and he has the best faces when you pause. Even if you don't agree with him, you understand his thought process and why he thinks what he does.

That also applies to Digibro, though he's more...controversial. Even if I don't always agree with him, I'm usually interested in what he has to say.

MatPat's great too; I really like Game and Film Theory. He seems like a good guy IRL.

Something I thought of during this. Since it's kinda a broad subject. Was just curious on everyone's thoughts.

What do you think of the importance to you of if you like the person, personally, for Youtube? Like said above, Fusion thinks MatPat is a good person IRL. Does that factor in for you all?
And how much do you believe that the youtubers are actually good people or are putting on an act?
Kinda hijacking the topic but I was curious and didn't think it needed a second thread :P

I think YouTube's been able to flourish as a medium because of that very reason. Watching two dudes play video games would sound dumb some years ago, but when they're funny and have great chemistry like the Game Grumps, it becomes a delight. I don't even like LPs and I'll occasionally skim one of their videos or compilations because they're funny.

TFS and MatPat also do streams, live interactions with their viewers that show them being themselves rather than being scripted and putting on a persona.

I think being likable is a general key to success, and interacting/listening to your audience. Part of why I said Digibro is controversial is because he tends to piss people off; he made a video breaking down why he hated ERASED while everyone else was calling it anime of the season and it riled up his viewers. And sometimes he'll make vlogs that are kinda ranty. He's beholden to his opinions, but I think he'll do better once he starts tempering himself some.

I mean from what I have heard the guy who does filthy frank is super cool but the character is so unbearable I can't stand it.

That said, I don't really want to watch someone I have no respect for. I haven't watched Tobuscus in ages.

Yes

MatPat

He is a good example of a person that can turn something like quantum physics into something entertaining.

He is actually very popular outside of his Youtuber profile, although it is mostly because of his Youtube profile, but now he is starting his own TV shows and has even met the pope.

Markiplier is the light of my life. He's so positive and wonderful~

Jenna Marbles is funny as funk

The FineBros React videos are also immensely entertaining to me

Tyler Oakley is pretty funny too, but I don't really watch him that often. Other than that I don't really watch enough youtubers to have a solid opinion

Digibro for anime reviews.

Infinite Elgintensity for roasting fitness gurus.

Logical Bro for making fun of Youtube drama.

Razorfist for action movie reviews and some of his retrospectives (The Shadow, Dirty Harry, Death Wish) are really good. Plus, I LOVE his strong choice of words ("testostero-kinetic carnage" "nondescript evil bastard island")

Oliver Harper for his in-depth movie retrospectives.

Jeremy Parish for his Gameboy series.

Chrontendo for his series covering NES/Famicom and Sega games in order of release.

I watch Nfkrz for clickbait cancer and he hates Keemstar which is a plus in my book.

I also watch a few spanish youtubers including SergioRazta.

I am starting to watch Angry Joe as well.

The Alex Jones Channel is a wonderful source of comedy.

I also view Steven Crowder's videos and Secular Talk for varied viewpoints in political matters.

retsupurae are the crowning definition of why only good things can come out of Something Awful. Absolutely amazing content creators, and even though they've moved on from doing MST-style skits of bad let's plays, they still have a special standing. Also, one of the guys, slowbeef, kinda made let's plays a thing, so that's cool, I suppose.

Chip and Ironicus are also good let's players that work well together, even if they do look and sound quite dorky and update maybe about twice a month. Worth the wait for every single episode of their LPs, especially their Metal Gear Rising LP.
