Once per turn, during your opponent's Standby Phase: Draw cards until you have 4 cards in your Hand. If you do, during your next Standby Phase after that: Randomly discard cards from your Hand equal to the number of cards you drew(Your entire Hand, if you do not have enough).

Essentially a worse Pot of Greed that deserves its spot on the banlist. using cards like Emergency Provisions or just simply destroying it to keep those four cards is incredibly broken. There's also Burning Abyss or Dark World(at the time) that will gain effects just from the discarding effect. Discuss.

Seems to me like another one of those cards that will never come off the list unless something crazy happens because it's so broken.

Cool card, though. Every Grave deck would abuse the sheet out of it, obviously. You could even couple it with Demise for 7-card thinning.

Obviously, Exodia would be the best Deck if we played Unlimited.

I could see it being able to exist in the game with a hard OPT clause and the draw reduced to 2. Aaaand maybe also have the draw and discard clauses happen consecutively so that people don't just gain discard fodder or allow removal to keep the hand...

I can think of dozens of ways (maybe even hundreds) to get it off the field but losing it with removal, but a quick way to bounce it I can only think of Raiza/Mega Raiza under Escalation, Gravelstorm, Phoenix Wing Wind Blast, and that's about it.....

Yeah it shouldn't be back as is. Knowing Konami, someday having under 4 cards in hand will be rare enough with all the pluses and floater effects in the game to make this card unbannable..... I can almost guarantee it.....

Random memory: When I was new to the game (2001-2002-ish) I actually always confused this card's image with Call of the Mummy's, until one day I saw them back to back and realized I had never read this card because I thought it was that card..... I know, that's dumb.... xD

Putting aside the ability to destroy or negate it yourself, even if you don't mitigate the downside, several decks, such as Zombie, Lightsworn, or Burning Abyss don't see it as a "downside" at all.

And two of those decks aren't threatening at all.

Honestly, as far as I'm concerned, it would be nice to see support for those Decks that used to be at least a little useable.

lightsworn have one of the highest sack ratios in existence. you really want them to have this added to it?

zombies i somewhat agree with, but shiranui doesn't need help building.

also, this would be incredibly annoying in PSY-frames, since they only play on the opponent's turn anyways.

Um, they also have no field presence turn 1, which is the most important turn of the game; pretty much no protection and no floating; and can easily be thwarted with common side cards like Light Imprisoning Mirror, Macro Cosmos, The End of Anubis, Majesty's Fiend, et cetera.

I wouldn't mind, since the Deck is fun to see and play anyway. Pretty much all Lightsworns can do is make a big board and try to push, which doesn't always work out in their favor since by the time they can start making combos with Lumina, Plague, and Glow-Up Bulb, the opponent probably already has Cydrafinity/Rafflesia/Warning/Strike ready for them.

With this card, they'd definitely be better, but I'm not sure by how much. Since they've got no floaters, Raigeki/Dark Hole ruin them, both of which are commonly used in Burning Abyss.

Even so, it is banned, and I doubt it'll ever come back since it just says "free >+3s"

raigeki/dark hole/breakthrough skill/twin twisters/galaxy cyclone, imperial iron wall, ect all of those things can be used in lightsworns to get out of your mentioned floodgates, not to mention floodgates aren't exactly an answer to the statement of high sack ratios. macro does as much damage to many of the top decks as it does to lightswors (barring kozmo) light imprsoning kills much of kozmo and blue eyes power as well, end of anubis stops PK-fire, and only one of the top decks can really make infinity/rafflesia field. no, they aren't meta still, but they don't need this to give them more of a boost and most lightsworn builds i've seen run turtles and gardnas to help prevent OTKs. no floatedrs required when their grave  holds defenses just as well.

but either way, they aren't even the biggest reason this can't come back, so it's not as important as all that.
