I still have a dark red Spellground lying in my room even though I don't actually play anymore - I just love it so much that I can't get rid of it. I'll probably use it as a mousemat if I ever get a stationary PC.

Just gonna point out, considering what Sakura said, that playmats have utility even with sleeves. Just as sleeves protect cards from grime and wear, a playmat does the same for your sleeves.

 

Not to mention the added benefits of providing a consistent gaming surface that it is much easier to lift cards from, the potential for using them as another form of self expression (especially for those who prefer plain sleeves), and for better defining the size of your play area, which is incredibly relevant at events where multiple games are conducted side by side.
