NationStates is a game where you create a country and make decisions about how to govern it. I've been playing for several years (after hearing about it on this forum, in fact), and I figured I might as well bring it up again with all the political discussion going on lately.

I think I'm gonna create a new nation, because my opinions on many issues have changed recently now that I've been paying more attention to politics. If people are interested, we could form a region and conquer the world or something. But yeah, the game's pretty cool. Y'all should check it out if you haven't.

Also Winter, glad I could help! Note that regions are basically just clubs, so we can't have regional policies and the like (which is what I'm guessing you were getting at?) Still regions can do some stuff, like have wars with other regions. I don't really know how it works, but...it exists.

This interesting game is suitable for those who delve in the realm of politics, especially teenagers and adults, since it lets them experience the various perplexing problems and challenge to build a nation that stand out against many...

Never really played the video game but it'll be interesting considering the unlimited possibilities and creativity.....

Thank you for showing me this game. Now I have something fulfilling to do during the summer. This game has taught me to comprise as well. I tried making my form of a utopia but that resulted in a decline in my economy and freedoms. So I opted to put my people's needs ahead of my ideals.

Currently, my favorite nation is "The Oppressed Peoples of the Holy Herb". And their currency is the Weed.

What did you expect in a game about extremist politics? If you try to rule tough but fair, you'll look like well-intentioned Hitler. If you think big business needs a crackdown, suddenly you're a radical Stalinist. You can be Trump in this game with little consequence. It's honestly part of the fun.

My favorite thing about the game is the new feature where you can see exactly how all your stats change after every decision. I still haven't figured out why choosing to not ban short shorts made my weather 1% worse.

I hesitated to join the region because my country isn't socialist but rather slightly on the opposite on the political spectrum, but it will be the most connected region for sure when compared to the last one I was in.

That explains why my country participates in public floggings now. All I did was put harsher penalties for those convicted of vandalism. However a higher fine or maybe public labor was what I had in mind.
