Toffee.
"Aftermath" stems from this idea I had a couple years ago. So yes. It's another cringefest. This will take place at a time in which the personified users of the internet live in a utopia-esque realm, that is the internet. There is no conflict involving SOPA; that was resolved long ago. Don't care how it happened, it just was. However, the net police still exist, but they aren't drones with squad leaders. No. They are actual users who chose to join out of there own free will, and nothing else. The difference here, however, is that this has more of an MIB sort of vibe to it- You know, potentially suspicious alien-characters that hide in plain sight via disguises/etc? Or something like that. Basically the series Cops, but in the world of Megaman NT Warrior- Not literally, just giving you a sort of idea. Basically there are shifty/shady users who are deliberately starting flame wars, hacking accounts, degrading the overall quality of the internet, etc, and the Net Police are out to resolve these sorts of incidents without making it worse. Might result in a casualty or two, but hey, that's the job. Think of them as forum moderators, if you will, but on a more universal level- By this, I mean they are mods for everything, regardless. This story will follow around a group of 3 friends who, obviously, are Net Police; I haven't really thought of names for them, but like, in addition to whatever law enforcement stuff they would know- The first one is an expert at FPS games, and has in-depth knowledge of all sorts of different kinds of in-game trades/how these sorts of systems work/etc; Hes good at negotiations/etc; has a thing for fancy/silly hats. The second is freelance code-writer who has a PHD in repairing source codes/etc- Hes kinda' sorta' a medic, but able to work on a grander scale; holds the world record for the top score in an online gambling game called "Bait N' Switch", and he has the head of a horse, while the rest of him is pretty much just a generic NPC. These first two have been around the block a few times, mind you, and know eachother more. The last one is a former "bad" Sonic OC who, while hes a bit of a newbie to the force with an eccentric attitude and wishes to become a better OC overall, hes good at being able to trace signatures/details/etc left by artists/users/etc- Basically a form of forensic science; He makes an occasional joke about the 2nd guy being an MLP OC(he really isn't). Or something like that.
