Entries:

Card A:

Rah'm the Opportunist
********
EARTH
Warrior/Synchro/Effect
2500/2000
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can target 2 monsters on the field; swap their ATK and DEF points. Once per turn, during either player's Main Phase: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; that target loses 500 ATK, and if you do, this card loses 500 DEF. When this card is destroyed (by battle or by card effect): You can target 1 Level 4 or lower monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it.

Card B:

If your opponent controls a monster that was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). Once per turn: You can banish any number of monsters from your Graveyard, then target face-up monsters on the field equal to the number of monsters banished by this effect; decrease their ATK and DEF by 600, until the End Phase. Each time you activate this effect, place 1 Soul Counter on this card when it successfully resolves (max. 2). Whenever a monster declares an attack: You can remove 1 Soul Counter from this card; negate the attack. You can only control 1 "Soul Saber Dragon".

I'll start with Card B. Very easy to get out, as most decks usually finish with at least 1 Extra deck monster up. The level and stats are nice, as it can get over most R4s and the smaller Xyzs and Synchros. The level means you can easily use this to synchro into Omega or another level 8, or Xyz into Big Eye or Dracossack. The other effects are interesting. If the attack decrease didn't target, would be pretty potent for getting over Kozmo and Blue-eyes. Unluckily, Azure-Eyes and Kozmo's targeting immunity exists. The Soul Counter bit is weird. Stops it being beaten over straight away by the likes of Dark Destroyer, but with no other form of protection this dragon won't be sticking around long anyway.

Rah'm is awkward. As a level 8 synchro, it faces stiff competition from the various forms of Stardust Dragon and Red Dragon Archfiend, not to mention Scrap Dragon and Omega. Swapping the attack and defense of monsters is... interesting? I guess it makes taking stuff down easier, but not by much. With the stats it has, reversing Blue-Eyes stats won't affect much, it can beat over most stuff Pendulum decks use (though reducing Ignister to 0 is cool), Kozmo can't be targeted by it and it could beat over most things in PK Fire anyway. The quick stat reduction effect is better, in my opinion. Messes up plays the opponent may be planning, though Destiny HERO Dystopia Guy doesn't care, and can increase this card's longevity. The final effect, the float, probably won't go off often. People are likely to just Castel it quickly to get it off the field.

Rah'm the Opportunist fits its name well. Not a win condition, and arguably outclassed by other level 8 Synchros, but forces your opponent to waste resources to take it down. Soul Saber Dragon is certainly more versatile and easier to summon, though unable to protect itself in a meaningful way. Despite this, I'll be voting for Card B.
