Manjoume Thunder
There is a rumor that there will be a new ruling. If you are discarding for a cost the card must be send to the graveyard. e.g. You can't activate Destiny Draw while Banisher of Radiance is face-up on the field because discarding a "Destiny Hero" is a cost and Banisher will prevent the card from going to the grave. Can you confirm?
-Griffin
I highly doubt it, seems silly and, if anything, a bad attempt to boost RFG Decks which would probably hurt them more than anything by stopping them discarding to the RFG. Cards can't be sent to the graveyard.
burnpsy
Black Garden/Shrink VS Morphtronic Radion Does Radion have 900 or 1300? Different Circumstances for each. It would be 900 with Garden' date=' as it halves ATK, not original ATK, like Shrink.[/quote'] There's a problem with your Garden scenario. Radion gives a constant 800-point boost to everything. This effect is independent of its summon. Would Radion not get halved before the boost? Garden doesn't constantly halve the ATK... Only when it first comes out. What about Gale? GenzoTheHarpist
Radion is cut in half when it is first summoned, because it's effect is continuous meaning it applies and then black garden does it's thing. Gale will cut Radion in half just fine.

When a monster is Normal or Special Summoned' date=' any Continuous Effects that increase or decrease the monster's ATK are applied before halving the monster's ATK with "Black Garden's" effect. For example, If "Command Knight" is Normal or Special Summoned, when "Black Garden" halves its ATK it also halves the ATK "Command Knight" gained from its effect. If "Burden of the Mighty" is active, the monster's reduced ATK is halved by "Black Garden".[/quote'] What about Gale? I would think same as Black Garden. BehindTheMask
if skill drain is active on the field and i attack a face down flip affect monster' date=' will its flip affect activate?[/quote'] The flip effect will attempt to activate, but Skill Drain will negate it. You can still chain to the activation, as well.
賢狼ホロ
If I "chain" Trap Hole to the Flip Summon of Swarm of Locusts can my opponent still activate its effect and destroy the card?
-Griffin
Destroying a monster doesn't negate the effect, why wouldn't they? And when activating Trap Hole, it's a "response", not a "chain".

I would defiantly look for this ruling because this is the first im hearing of it.
Darkest Hour
So does that mean if I discard a card for Lightning Vortex it has to go to the graveyard to work?
Bringerofcake
No. Lightning says "Discard 1 card". It does not designate where the card has to go, and therefore can be used.
-Griffin
Except that that's exactly what's changing - their making discard automatically count as meaning, "discard to the Graveyard."
shadowferret
Well, that could be a possible new ruling. shadowferret
Makes sense... Next question: If Skill Drain is active while a Gemini monster is on the field, is it considered an Effect Monster, or can Gemini be considered a game mechanic, and it's treated as a Normal Monster? Next question: If Skill Drain is active while a Gemini monster is on the field' date=' is it considered an Effect Monster, or can Gemini be considered a game mechanic, and it's treated as a Normal Monster?[/quote'] Versus "Skill Drain":[24] * Normal Gemini Monsters have their effects negated' date=' and are treated as Effect Monsters. Also it is against the rules to play with toploaders.
