Zazubat
If I Synchro Summon but it's negate, and it gets send to grave, but then gets send to the banished zone, can I ss it then?
Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
I feel stupid for asking such a low-experience question as this, but if both Spellbook Tower and Spellbook Star Hall are destroyed at the same time by Heavy Storm, do I get the effects of both or just 1? I don't know if their effects would go on a chain together and revolve properly, or if they would miss the timing because one tried to activate already. For that matter, I assume that Grand Tower counts itself for its own effect?

No, has to be properly Summoned to be revived later in the game. Anyways, this has come up at least twice for me now in DN. If I use Assault of the Fire Kings to get Garunix, the effect negation should only apply for the field, right? Ie people have stated that the effect negation applies even when it's in the Graveyard. Aerion Brightflame
Something not important, but that intrests me as it happened in a duel just now: If you attacked Shield Wing with LaDD, does Shield Wing's effect activate for LaDD to negate? I wasn't sure, and didn't fancy on waiting for an admin, and didn't think it did so I just carried on. I just wish to know in the possible chance of it happening again. Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
Shield Wing, just like Gachi Gachi and Maestroke (if I'm not mistaken), do not "activate" to stop from being destroyed. They just do it as a condition.

Shield Wing's effect is Continuous. Continuous Effects do not activate.
newhat
Let's say my opponent activates Dark World Dealings and discards Makyura the Destructor, and when the game state re-opens, they want to activate Reckless Greed from their hand. Can I chain Droll & Lock Bird (given its trigger by Dealings) to Reckless Greed? Or does it not work that way?

Can I chain Droll & Lock Bird (given its trigger by Dealings) to Reckless Greed? Or does it not work that way?Droll and Lock is a trigger effect and the chance it could activate would be before your opponent can use any non-trigger effects. So Droll would have to be first, then your opponent decides whether to chain Reckless to it or not. Oh also Droll trigger is before game state re-opens so if you wait that long it's too late for Droll and Lock to activate.

Any Spell Speed 2 effect can be activated "before game state re-opens" as you call it, so its not impossible to activate Reckless Greed at that timing. Regardless, the question was answered correctly. You have to decide to use Droll and Lock Bird before anyone can activate a non-Trigger Effect. D.A._Sakuyamon
If my opp. veilers my rescue rabbit upon summon and later that turn tribute R.Rabbit. Is it's effect still negated even though it's no longer on the field?

Its effects will be negated by Effect Veiler even though its banished.

Alpakha
Can firedance tenken/tensen be activated during the damage step? I'm bad with the rulings of timing and such.
Agro
Can firedance tenken/tensen be activated during the damage step? I'm bad with the rulings of timing and such. There's no timing involved. The only effects that can be activated during the damage step are those that specifically state that they can, as well as, those effects that affect ATK/DEF and those that negate the activation of an effect (and possibly just those that negate effects, whether activated or not, that's the one I'm never completely clear on)
Zazubat
More simply said, you can activate Tensen, but not Tenken because it cannot be activated in any other Phase than Phase 1.

Shradow
You can't Tribute Summon without tributing. Now I'm curious about something, on Geartown it says "Both players can Tribute Summon "Ancient Gear" monsters with 1 less Tribute than required." Since it allows you to summon Level 5 or 6 Ancient Gears without tributes, are they technically still called Tribute Summons or not? I'm merely questioning semantics here. Cute Rotten Yoshika
no. think of it this way. the xyz materials vanish from the field and go to "limbo" as some rulings call it, then the xyz monster is placed on top. lpd is sent to grave when the materials vanish which is before gaia dragon appears. I overlay Gaia Dragon the Thunder Charger Lightpulsar is sent to the Graveyard. Do I get LPD's effect? No. Lightpulsar Dragon would miss the timing. Exa-Beetle becomes a Material first, as with any Xyz Summon, and then the monster is Special Summoned. Lightpulsar would be sent to the Graveyard once Exa-Beetle became a material. The last thing to happen would be the Special Summon of Gaia Dragon. I don't see why you call this "limbo". The very first step of Xyz Summoning is that the monsters being used immediately become Materials. They are no longer monsters and no longer have any effects or conditions that they had when they were monsters. Then comes the overlaying. A Normal Summon with 0 Tributes is not a Tribute Summon. If you're Normal Summoning a Level 5 or 6 Ancient Gear monster with the effect of Geartown, you are simply Normal Summoning the monster. It is NOT a Tribute Summon, so "Advance of the Emperor" will not protect these monsters for example.
Cute Rotten Yoshika
"limbo" is a term used by konami when describing where monsters are in 2 situations 1) during the summon negation window 2) while they are xyz materials. it just means theyre not on the field, or in the hand graveyard etc so things like sangan dont get to activate their effects because they arent going from the field to the graveyard, but from limbo to the graveyard.
