Yu-Gi-Oh! Rulings Questions

Recommended Posts

I'm going to assume this is a simple "no" because of the way the text is worded, but I'd like to ask to clarify, anyway.

"Ancient City - Rainbow Ruins" "3+" effect states that you can send a "Crystal Beast" monster you control to the Graveyard to negate a Spell/Trap Card. Now, since you're still technically "controlling" the ones that are in the Spell/Trap Card Zone, can you send one of those, or does it have to be an actual monster?

"Monster" not "card".

Does Metaion activate its effect even if it was sent to the Graveyard, or does it have to remain on the field in order to do so?

Yes. Same as Gladiator Beasts, not only must the battle be successful, but it must be faceup at the end of the Battle Phase for its effect to activate.

Deckbuilding questions, aimed at Lightsworn hybrid players.

How many other Lightsworns could be needed to run if I want to run my single Celestia?

If 4 of the Lightsworns I run are of the kind that mill every turn, is that enough to add one or two cards over 40 to avoid deckout?

Ryko, Lyla, Ehren, Lumina, Wulf (kinda), Celestia.

Clear this up for me, would you, kind sir?

Evolzar Laggia attacks, I play Dimensional Prison. Laggia negates. I can then activate another Dimensional Prison. Correct? Because it's all in the same chain?

Indeed. The chain's timing is still "a monster declaring an attack", so other Dimensional Prisons can still be activated.

Can I have Protector of the Sanctuary and Destiny Hero - Defender on the field at the same time? If so, what would happen?

Yes you can. Then Defender will basically lose its drawback while you control Protector.

Does Naturia Stinkbugs Effect work on itself as it is an Naturia to?

And how many cards would be wise for an stall deck? 50 for Max and 40 for minimum?

Indeed, since it doesn't make itself an exception.

If the idea of the stall deck is purely "stall until your opponent decks out", then I'd suggest getting a new theme, such as Final Countdown or Mill. Either way, you shouldn't need any more than 40 cards.

I have my opponent's BLS equipped with Snatch Steal.

I normal summon Tsukuyomi and target said BLS.

My opponent responds with an MST targetting the Snatch Steal.

Please resolve this chain. Will BLS be returned before it is flipped down or not?

Chain Link 1: Tsukuyomi, targeting BLS

Chain Link 2: MST, targeting Snatch Steal

resolving backwards

Link 2: MST destroys Snatch Steal. Snatch Steal no longer takes control of the monster, and it is returned to the other player's control.

Link 1: Tsukuyomi flips BLS facedown.

Monster Reincarnation: Use fabled lurrie for discard cost to get other card, would I get to SS fabled Lurrie then too?

Yes. Lurrie is mandatory and can be discarded by any means. It will activate on a new chain after Reincarnation resolves.

Future notes, in case you wonder:

You can use Monster Reincarnation to discard Krus, then immediately add her back, and still revive a Fabled.

But don't run Lurrie, it's bad.

thanks, and in this case, i have both for a Reason.......

DWD tends to be more of a chance card since it draws 1, discards 1. It's a bad topdeck, you'd be better off just using monsters that can summon themselves fast and furiously. DWD is basically just slow and tends to clog... Yes. DWD clogs. It doesn't provide as much speed and power as it does in Dark Worlds.

Lurrie is too small. Its only purpose is to get out Formula Synchron. Doppelwarrior (and I guess Dandylion) make tokens that do it just as well and it can do even more. In other words, you have better options.

Reincarnation is best at 1 as a tech, it's not really necessary, there isn't much you really would want to get back with it, so it makes it good only in situational... well, situations.

And that's me trying to explain what Black never does.

Well, you guess what I was pretty much what I was doing with Lurrie, for formula of course. Then Fabled Kruss works for higher monsters. I'm not really playing a full on fabled deck, its my own deck that has a goal which works, I just need to cut off 5 cards from it. And whats better defense with no monsters on the field other then this, that does the same, but with less cards. As even though the below works, its slow to get out, plus when you do, most of them already destroyed. And I also want to protect it from Spells.

Imperial Iron Custom, Field Barrier, Tornado Wall, A Legendary Ocean, Imperial Iron Wall, >>> please help me as I need smaller & stronger defense mechanism.

If I were to activate Different Dimension Gate, (Target 2 monsters (1 on each side of the field); banish those targets. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: Return those banished monsters to the field in the same battle positions they were in.) and my monster were to stop being banished/returned to the field, while gate isn't destroyed, if gate is destroyed, does the last effect resolve and does my opponent get his monster back?

Yes. If one of the banished monsters is taken from the RFG zone before DDGate is destroyed, the other monster will still return to the Field.
