If I'm using Fableds and my opponent plays D. Fissure or Macro, since monsters would be banished do I not get their effects since they say "discarded to the Graveyard"? Or would they be discarded to the graveyard, then banished, and still get the effect?

Monsters are removed from play INSTEAD. You will not get the effects of any removed fableds that were discarded.

If my opponent were to activate Dark Hole if the only monsters I control are Trap Monsters, can I use Fake Trap?

The ruling on this is as follows:

If an effect that destroys Trap Cards is used against “Embodiment of Apophis”, you can use “Fake Trap” to prevent it from being destroyed. When preventing the destruction of “Embodiment of Apophis”, you must be using a card of the appropriate type. You cannot use “My Body as a Shield” to rescue it from “Heavy Storm”. You cannot use “Fake Trap” to rescue it from “Raigeki”. You can use “Riryoku Field” when “Embodiment of Apophis” is targeted by “Snatch Steal”, but not when it’s targeted by “Mystical Space Typhoon”. You can use any of these effects to protect “Embodiment of Apophis” from “Raigeki Break” because “Raigeki Break” can destroy a Monster card or a Trap Card.

So no, you cannot. Because Dark Hole specifically destroys monsters, not Traps.

Must be some TCG ruling then, as otherwise, you can use Fake Trap to protect your Trap Monsters from Dark Hole, or any other effect that would destroy "monsters" provided those monsters are the Trap Monsters. Understand that Trap Monsters are still considered Traps as well as Monsters, so an effect that would destroy a Trap Monster would also be destroying a Trap. Fake Trap can be used in those situations.

Some parts of that are correct, but the important part is that the Trap Monsters are still considered Traps (due to the "This card is still treated as a Trap Card"), but not the other way around in that "The Traps are considered Monsters". You can use Fake Trap to protect from cards like Dark Hole and Raigeki, but you cannot use My Body against MST where the Traps themselves are not considered Monsters.

Fake Trap protects other Traps. Trap Monsters are still Traps. Trap monsters will be protected by Fake Trap if destroyed by an effect which would destroy a monster.

According to Wiki, it was a ruling applied by Upperdeck and may not be official. But very rarely have I seen a ruling labeled as such that no longer applies. And the OCG rulings dont mention it at all.
