.Nu-13
The wording points that way, yes. Since it says "another monster", that means you can Normal or Special Summon prior to activating the card, as opposed to cards that restrict it during that turn, like Soul Exchange, Duality, etc.Hm, so it's much better than I thought
Master White
Yes, unless it's a cost, in which you cannot do this. So, wait a minute here, it took me a few to look on this, but what do you mean unless it is a cost? So, lets say a card you control is returned to the hand as a cost, then you can't do that....okay, I was more of thinking it was compulsory evacuation device or penguin soldier. Compulsory and Penguin Soldier are effects. As an example, you can return a monster you control to your hand to Special Summon Genex Ally Birdman from your hand.Bouncing a monster is a cost, so I couldn't bounce a Fusion Monster, Synchro Monster, or Xyz Monster to summon Birdman. Northern Sage
Does the effect of Cost down still apply for monsters on the field if it would be removed?
evilfusion
Does the effect of Cost down still apply for monsters on the field if it would be removed? That's a pretty good question. The reduction applies while it's in the hand and when it's been Summoned, but one ruling stated the reduction no longer applies in the Graveyard, so I think that Cost Down stops working when the affected card is removed from the field. I'm not sure what would happen if it was returned to the hand.
Giga Hand
What happens if I Xyz summon using a card that banishes itself when it leaves the field, a la Battle Fader? Being a Xyz Material isn't considered "on the field", last I checked the wiki (Xyz Materials aren't even considered monsters so they aren't affected by Dimensional Fissure, LOLNAMI LOGIC). Greiga
It becomes an Xyz Material. This was confirmed a while ago btw.

I'm not sure what would happen if it was returned to the hand. Cost Down affects monsters in the Hand and continues while they're on the field. If a Monster affected by Cost Down is summoned and is later returned to the Hand, it'll still have its level reduced (since Monsters in the Hand are still affected by Cost Down). If a monster that wasn't affected by Cost Down is added to the hand (by drawing or returning it from the field or Graveyard), then its level will be reduced by 2 for Cost Down. Cost Down applies to all monsters in your Hand, whether they were in the hand or not when Cost Down resolved.
Resident Fascist
Am I right in thinking that, No matter how many Shi ens I have face-up, I can only negate 1 S/T a turn? I'm probably wrong, but nevermind.

Though I guess Naturia Beast is a slightly better choice late game, because your graveyard is full. Thanks anyways

Beast mills to negate Spells, Barkion removes 2 to negate Traps. Shi En can negate either one for free, but only once per turn.
Resident Fascist
Whoops. Anyway, Regarding another Six Sam card. I have "Kagemusha of the six samurai" and "Legendary Six Samurai - Kageki" faceup on my field. I special summon "Legendary Six Samurai - Kizan." I have another in my hand, can I special summon the second Kizan during the same turn? If not, One of my biggest trollish plays is ruined :(
Solemn Silver
2 Questions: 1. If I nuke the field w/ Black rose dragon, WHILE Karakuri showdown castle is in play, Can I SS my level 4+ From the grave safely? 2. (3 part question)I. Can I use Quick plays during standby phase?II. Can I Book of Moon Treeborn during standby to get another treeborn?III. Can I E-Con, Tributing my Treeborn during standby, getting thier monster, then have treeborn SS itself again? I'm thinking no and no, but I need an expert opinion. I have "Kagemusha of the six samurai" and "Legendary Six Samurai - Kageki" faceup on my field. I special summon "Legendary Six Samurai - Kizan." That banish themselves? Hmm...just thinking of examples that can is hard enough. Drill Warrior can, but he's not generic.Shooting Star Dragon and Red Nova DragonT.G. Blade Blaster I think that's it, and all those are triggered effects that will return the monster to the field.
