iAmNateXero
Wouldn't it be simpler to add a list of "Things you should know before Asking a question" with You can never chain to a summon? o.O
ShadowKyogre
Can Wildheart still attack if Threatening Roar is active for the turn (stupid Q, probably no)? Can Horus LV6 still attack if Messenger of piece is active(stupid Q, probably no)?
GenzoTheHarpist
Yes for both, especially the Horus one... why WOULD it effect him?
ShadowKyogre
Well, both Messenger of Peace and Threatening Roar seem to affect the player since these are the wordings for it: Threatening:Your opponent cannot declare an attack this turn. MoP:Neither player can declare attacks with face-up monsters with an ATK of 1500 or more. Pay 100 Life Points during each of your Standby Phases. If you do not, destroy this card. Look at the bolded letters.
GenzoTheHarpist
Oh yeah... in that case you might be right.
ShadowKyogre
Yeah. Still not sure what the official rulings have to say about this. Who the heck would use Threatening after someone declared an attack anyway?
iAmNateXero
You'd be surprised as to how many people simply declare attacks without announcing Battle Phase in major tournaments, Its a way of Trying to get over.
ShadowKyogre
But declaring an attack automatically assumes entering the Battle Phase. At least that's what everyone in my school understands.
CrabHelmet
But declaring an attack automatically assumes entering the Battle Phase. At least that's what everyone in my school understands. The Start Step has to come first.
iAmNateXero
During events, you assume nothing. Doing so will get you screwed. Always ask what phases are you entering.
Dad
I was curious, today moreover after watching a match. Mike: Releases his face-down Sangan for Caius, and targets Anthony's face-down Spirit Reaper. After which: Anthony: Chains to Caius' summon, with Bottomless Traphole. Mike: Responds with Shrink, reducing Ciaus' original attack by half, making it 1200, and supposedly by-passing Bottomless Traphole. Can he do that? =O

iAmNateXero
How was the chain? If you already removed as a cost, the effect resolves. If IIW is face up, the effect cannot be activated.
ShadowKyogre
Okay, something weird happened when I was playing World Championship 2008. Skull Archfiend of Lightning was able to negate Negate Attack, a Counter Trap. Is this supposed to even happen? Also, does that mean Prime Material Dragoncan negate Divine Wrath?
iAmNateXero
Hmmm, This is strange. I would say No generally, But SAoL is worded funny. It says "when resolving the effect" Its not countering the card. And you do have to target the Attacking Monster. So Yes, I would say that is allowed, BUT im not 100% sure. As to PMD, No... It can not.
ShadowKyogre
It still negated it, which was weird. As for two, that's messed up...why does a Spell Speed 2 (Archfiend) get higher priority than another Spell Speed 2...."If the result is 1, 3 or 6, negate the effect and destroy the opponent's card." Speaking of that, can Prime Material Dragon negate Snipe Hunter, Roulette Barrel, Barrel Dragon, or Dark Master - Zorc?
iAmNateXero
Prime Material can not Negate the activation of such effect and destroy those cards because they are not guaranteed.
ShadowKyogre
Zorc's somewhat guarenteed though...since each result guarentees at least 1 monster being destroyed.
GenzoTheHarpist
You can negate Zorc's effect with PMD or Stardust, however you have to do this when it's activated (before the die role), you can't do it just because it got a result you didn't want

evilhorus
yes, you can synchro/revive any monster after CCV activation (correct me if im wrong). I have a question: If i Synchro Summon a monster, and it gets solemned right away, can I use Monster Reborn on the synchro?
