Situation.

Turn 1:

Opponent attacks my Face Down Reptilianne - Naga with Absolute Zero, Absolute Zero's attack becomes 0 Atk.

Turn 2:

I summon Reptilianne - Scylla and attack his Absolute Zero. Do I still gain control over it by Scylla's effect, or does it get deep frosted by Absolute Zero's effect and it never activates?

This is basically the same thing that occured a few questions back in regards to the timing of Goyo Guardian and Machina Fortress

Effects that activate simultaneously are activated in order of mandatory then optional, and turn player then opponent... The order of what comes first in the chain would be...

a) Turn Player's mandatory effects

b) The Opponent's mandatory effects

c) Turn Player's optional effects

d) The Opponent's optional effects

Chain Link 1) Elemental Hero Absolute Zero (Mandatory opponent's effect)

Chain Link 2) Reptilianne Scylla. (Optional turn player's effect)

In this case, Reptilianne Scylla Special Summons Elemental Hero Absolute Zero from the Graveyard. Then, Elemental Hero Absolute Zero's effect activates and all your monsters are destroyed (including the Elemental Hero Absolute Zero you just Special Summoned).

Then, since Elemental Hero Absolute Zero's effect activates and resolves where it is sent to and not on the field, It is out of reach of Reptilianne Scylla's negation effect from it being Special Summoned, and since it goes to your opponent's Graveyard, it would mean all your monsters are destroyed again (which you shouldn't have any due to the first activation of its effect).

Edit: Let me link the wikia, as there are separate rules for TCG and OCG http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Simultaneous_Effects_Go_On_Chain

Actually' date=' it's a hella lot simpler. Zero cannot be Summoned except by Fusion Summon, so your Scylla is invalid.

Hello' date='

I've a question: How exactly do Dimensional Glads work? what's the gist of it? D. Fissure just tech'd into the deck, or something more specific?

[/quote']

Dimensional Fissure is just a tech card that is used to counter Zombies and Lightsworn.

hm...then, there's no real change in the build, other than x3 D. fissure tech'd in? I don't really know much about gladiator beast builds, but I'm interested in doing something of the sort.

Um... no. You have to do a large overhaul. First, you have to take out E-Hero prisma, as he is useless while D-Fissure is on the field. Rescue Cat must also be taken out, as he is also useless. Most people take it one step further and remove gladiator beast samnite, and replace with Thunder King Rai-Ohs, and also neg some stuff for Kycoo.

Essentially, It's anti-meta glads (not oppression glads). If you would like a full list, pm me.

Do Poison Draw Frog and Dupe Frog miss the timing with Substitoad?

Yes, and Yes, The main issue being the word "can", meaning they are optional effects.

Where the timing fits is as follows:

1) Substitoad: Tribute 1 monster

2) Poison Draw Frog/Dupe Frog (since this is directly after these cards reach the graveyard where their effects need to activate at)

3) Substitoad: Special Summon 1 monster.

The issue with that is due to the fact that the effect is optional, it needs your permission to activate. Unfortunately you cannot interrupt Substitoad's effect to get that permission, you must finish its effect.

By the time you finish its effect, you're past step 2 and miss the timing so to speak for either effect. If it were mandatory, then it would occur after substitoad's effect resolves.

The last thing that has to occur is their being sent from the field to the graveyard. In this case, the last thing to occur is the Special Summoning of a monster.
