An IRL friend of mine told me this idea and wanted to make it but they failed. SO - I decided to take the idea and finally giving Hip Hippo the limelight they deserve. I have the Reckless Greed Draw Engine to run through for my key cards like the equips and Super Hippo Carnival (SHC). SHC sets up United We Stand to have Hip Hippo go up to 4800 with just itself. You want to get off as much damage as possible. So using 2-3 equips at a time is what you should set up to do. Mage Power grants that extra umf you need to deal some damage. Magic Cylinder proves to be so good in here. Getting off any damage Hip Hippo couldn't do themselves while also being defensive. I've had good results so far but CnC is appreciated.

you're clearly not angry enough if you aren't playing blazing mirror force. Also I would play a few phantom knight cards instead of cardcar and swift scarecrow just to search the trap cards like sword and wings. You're missing out on a lot if you're not playing card of demise here.

I tried card of demise in my first couple attempts, ended up not liking it cuz the discard. It also forced me to set things like carnival that I would be forced to activated prematurely if it got twister'd.

 

As for the phantom knight cards... not sure I follow. You want me to run swords and wings for Hip Hippo so it can protect itself and use that phantom knights to search. But I'd be dropping raw draw power and defense as well. Also wings and sword is dead without Hippo, right?

yeah i mean the win condition is to have a hippo swinging around dealing tons of damage so you'll play what helps that. I guess to that end you should probably play stuff to search the lone hippo rather than stall into it. also card of demise is easier to use efficiently when you have a field spell and pendulum cards, try using something like Orichalcos since it has decent synergy with Carnival.

I recomend playing a Bamboo Sword draw engine instead of the Reckless Greed/Jar/Legacy of Yata/Accumulated Fortune. It works well with Hidden Armory and should be a lot faster.

Confession: I've never used that engine before. I'll look up some good numbers and work from there. I don't want to drop this idea on the account it's new to me, but it's new to me.

 

 

What about Wild Nature's Release? United and Mage both boost Hippo's DEF, so it essentially doubles its ATK.

I was thinking about that card, would really help a lot in the OTK side of this deck. It's just that I never wanted to take anything out. Although - With as gimmicky as the deck is, having more of a potential to OTK would be great. What do you think I should switch out?

 

 

What if you tried this:

 

-3 MST

-3 Cardcar

+3 Pot of Cupidity

+2 Twin Twister

+1 Hip Hippo

Sounds interesting, I'll give it a shot.

I haven't seen people run normal mirror force competitively in like... forever - and really, how many people run Magic Cylinder. Even so I'm either going to have mst x3 or tt x2. So that is my counter in a way.

 

Also that's probably where they got the idea from. 22,000 atk? Only way I can think of that is Wild Nature. 

 

Still no idea if I want to incorporate that in or not.

I actually saw a beat down with something like this on YouTube, hip hippo had 22,000 ATK. And I would recommend a counter to traps like mirror force and magic cylinder.

That was this video by MegaCapitalG. It's also where I got the idea for Wild Nature. There's also this video that was released before that; idk if this is the original inspiration or not. That video also has interesting tech in the form of Card of Sacrifice and Collected Power. I'd suggest testing

-3 Accumulated Fortune

 

+1 Collected Power

+2 Card of Sacrifice

+2 Duality

+2 Scapegoat

+3 Wild Nature's Release

+2 Amulet of Ambition

This build would be a lot more focused on the OTK. Card of Sacrifice could possibly dropped to keep the Accumulateds; it depends on which would be dead less often.
