Rodrigo
I'm definitely happy with the set as a whole, but the Sphinx of Steel Wind and the life taplands are a bummer.
Flame Dragon
I'm definitely happy with the set as a whole, but the Sphinx of Steel Wind and the life taplands are a bummer. Agreed. Sphinx is likely the biggest let down for the mythics since its not that old and was reprinted recently. Like, Worldgorger isn't anything to right home about, but its an old magic card. Maybe I was expecting too much since 10 rares being lands is a lot, but Shocks do work as a budget option for Legacy. Khans lands kind of sucks. But yea, the set is still amazing with a TON of amazing choices for rare and mythic. I think everyone was expecting some lame ducks, but I feel like that number is less than what I would have initially guessed. Personally I'm curious what cards went from rare to uncommon/common. Mmy cube is commons/uncommons from modern and I'm curious if I have any sweet additions to make. I know 100% I'm putting Sprite Noble and Sengir Autocrat in. Phyrexian Ingester and Emperor Crocodile are the only Modern-legal cards to be downshifted from rare. Not surprising: this set was designed to reprint mainly Legacy-legal stuff, after all. Sixty
lifelands are good for limited. they let you do like infinite colors in khans. although tbh i'm not sure you'd want to go beyond three in this format
Flame Dragon
Oops, just realized I forgot about one: Mindless Automaton. Neat. That was a card that caught my eye. lifelands are good for limited. they let you do like infinite colors in khans. although tbh i'm not sure you'd want to go beyond three in this format They are really good for limited, thats true. Common duels do a lot to make 3 color decks work.

LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
Now I don't have anything great to say here but I will say. It's so great to see some of these cards. Weird things like Coalition Honor Guard. Cards that were around when I was a kid, and I remember seeing them way back then. It's just one huge nostalgia trip for me. GarlandChaos
tfw you misread kird ape as kind ape Anyways, set's lookin' pretty cool. I'm really digging the artifacts and blue cards in this set, especially Chrome Mox, Mana Crypt, Arcanis the Omnipotent, Phyrexian Ingester, and Inkwell Leviathan. Poc
So for anyone that plays pauper, EMA was kind of a steath expansion. A full list of rarity shifted cards here http://imgur.com/a/c4l3M/layout/horizontal some notables include: Peregrine Drake; This makes esper familiars a deck again, its not as fast as CoF but it does the same thing. Warden of Evos Isle: A really strong lord for U/W fliers deck, This might make grindy Cawblade-esque decks viable Night's Wispers: A really strong black cantrip Kird Ape; Finally printed at common on MTGO Orcish Oriflame: This card sucks but once upon a time it was banned due to a printing error. Elvish Vanguard: Gives Elves a much needed boost Nimble Mongoose: Before Delver this guy and his brother, basking rootwalla were the tempo kings. VERY strong 1 drop
