Awesome, support hero! Now I can tank and heal with the same character when my teammates lock in 5 DPS, it's paladin time! Also I had no idea that was how her name was pronounced.

 

I actually haven't played much Overwatch lately but Brigitte will absolutely change that.

Right, people will probably pronounce it Bri-Get, though as a Scandinavian name, it's pronounced Bri-Gi-Te. A lot of names are like that, like Mads and Joakim among others.

Placements matches went well, 8/10 wins, the highest one I can think of, but I don't recall them all. Current rating is 3668, but honestly I barely care about that anymore. I just am not sure I find it as enjoyable as I normally did, I would rather play the arcade and the event games instead. Is anyone else feeling this? Also, got a gold weapon for Symmetra.

I personally never liked competitive. Atop the pressure, there's always the off chance that one of your teammates drops the game. Compared to the other game modes like Arcade, this one just makes for an irritating experience.

I think I placed into Platinum once on console and pretty much haven't touched comp since then even after switching to PC.

 

Anyways, I'm sad now that they've fixed Brigette's insane Shield Bash jumps on the PTR, but it was to be expected, she shouldn't be flying 30 feet into the air. Thankfully her Shield Bash > Rocket Flail > Whip Shot combo still works even after the slight delay was added to dropping the shield after a Shield Bash (and the person testing said they made sure to have Tracer holding down E to Recall as soon as possible):

Oh baby, everything is coming together! I managed to get McCree's new skin in the LAST lootbox I am probably going to get this event, and I also got enough coins to get the last legendary I needed for the old ones, D.Va's skin that is. Got Zarya and Pharah's new skin as well, and all the emotes and what not as well I believe.

Man, Brigitte is fun. I've only played her in a handful of FFA Deathmatches so far, but I've come top 4 every time, even getting second once. A Genji would win every game, but at least it's satisfying to shut down his ults with a shield bash. Her shield bash into melee into whip shot combo feels really good to pull off, too.

Developer Comments: This change helps Mei combat multiple targets that are clumped up and also makes it easier to keep her freezing a specific target if another enemy gets in the way. In addition, this change helps her ultimate more consistently be able to freeze more targets, especially if they are near each other. Note: While her shots now pierce enemies, they still do not pierce barriers such as Reinhardt’s shield.

  • Reloads Hellfire Shotguns after use
Wraith Form
  • Move speed bonus increased from 25% to 50%
  • You can now cancel the ability by pressing the Shift or Primary Fire hotkey
Developer Comments: These changes help Reaper use Wraith Form more consistently as an escape, but they also open up new options, such as chasing down key targets.
 
And the "Avoid as Teammate" option is pretty cool.

Now that's great for me, as I like to use both of those heroes. Mei still sucks to play as, but hey, what can you do. But to nitpick, I can't dash in Tracer's sitting emote anymore!

 

I should be playing Brigitte more. She seems to be a neat Healer. Plus the Shield Bash is pretty sweet.

 

Lately, I've been playing as Lúcio a lot more in Competitive. Not one of my favorite heroes to play as. But hey, what works best. But only in Offense and Control Maps. I cannot do a justice as him in Defense. It's almost im-funking-possible.

 

 

Sombra is getting a new skin, and her hair is short and super cute.

And that's all coming up this week! Hopefully this event goes better than Year of the Dog. God, that one felt like a letdown.

I really like the Hanzo changes, and I'm surprised to see Tracer getting a nerf. Is this her first change since the beta? The new wallride is pretty sick, too.

Decided to wait until I got something more significant in the Loot Boxes. First 10 had sprays, icons, emotes, voice lines, and a highlight intro. Nothing interesting. By now I've opened 15, and on my 11th I got the Pajamei skin! One of the skins I wanted this event. The other(s) being Moira and maybe Sombra's.

 

Also, I love the Retribution arcade game. Not just for the gameplay, but for tapping into a plot point in Overwatch that was barely touched upon before.

 

About time they gave Hanzo a little push. Guy was miserable to play as. Junkrat still too strong I guess. Tracer's was a surprising change. And given how I've been using Lúcio lately for competitive, I appreciate the change they made to his secondary attack.

Wow, Blizzard are donating 250.000 USD to breast cancer research, that is pretty nuts, and you can help too and get a new Mercy skin as well, I am not personally someone who donates, I feel bad about not doing it for some causes over others, and since I am not the richest guy around, it's something I need to think more carefully about, but I am considering it for the gesutre they are doing: https://playoverwatch.com/en-us/charity

I did it. Was 15.00. You get a neat skin and support a good cause.

 

As for the last event:

 

Bought Moira's skin. Only new skin I pulled was Mei's. Would've been nice to pull Sombra's too, but hey. What can you do. Still better than Year of the Dog, but compared to how well Winter Wonderland and Halloween went for me, that's not saying much.

 

Also, I love to use Brigitte now. It's so satisfying to beat enemies to death and going past barriers.

 

Placement matches went better this time. 4 wins, 1 tie, and 5 losses.

 

And my god, I don't dread using Hanzo anymore. The changes they made to him were splendid.

 

How'd placement matches and the event go for the rest of you?
