IamFallen
Hey everybody, what's up? My name is Brendan, but I go by Fallen pretty much everywhere. I've been picking up Yugioh every now and then, and right now, I don't exactly know too much, so I probably won't make cards for a while until I know enough to get by. :D
Flash Flyer - Sakura
Welcome to YCM.Before you post further on the site, make sure you read the rules and any other announcements so you don't get into trouble. If you intend on posting cards, it might be a good idea to look in TCG for what's coming up right now (just be warned about the competitive nature of that area). ----Anyway, PM me or another staff member if you need help. Trebuchet MS
Hello, and welcome to YCM. I am Gadjiltron, one of the moderators of the Custom Cards section. To address your other question, I feel that the best way to feel the meta is to actively play in some games. Get curbstomped a bit in an online simulator to get the feel of how fast the meta goes nowadays. Or just explore the TCG/OCG discussion in this forum to get a few hints on what's big, then delve into a card database to understand what's pushing what's topping. Until you get a good grasp, you can feel comfortable with card design in Casual. I look forward to seeing what cards you create. Read the rules, maybe read a guide on card design. Cause no trouble. Flash Flyer - Sakura
(If I didn't already say this, I'm also a CC mod [you will hear Custom Cards abbreviated as this a lot of the time]; technically the lead one. But otherwise, you can probably find out in the section rules and stuff.) I would probably recommend YGOPro due to it being more/less up to date with the card pool, though be warned that it can lag a bit and certain effects may not work properly due to coding errors. DN is nice, but can be slow (and I've no clue if they fixed the image problem yet). And yes, the meta is rather quick at the moment and likely much faster than what you're used to at present. ---Overall, do have fun here.
KDironclaw
Hi! Welcome to DevPro! I'm also relatively new, and, well... I don't really know much about cards either. I'm still learning though, I just built a pretty okay deck... Well anyway! I really do hope you enjoy your stay here!
