It's time again to make our initial lists that will most likely end up being somewhat different when the time actually comes.
At least this is closer to the season the thread is for than the last time I said this.
As for me,

 

Definitely Watching:
Active Raid 2nd Season - First season was my favorite anime of Winter, so it stands to reason I want to watch this.

Amanchu!
Cheer Danshi!! & Servamp - Brain's Base
Handa-kun - Prequel of Barakamon
Rewrite - Just a thing, I guess.

I'm for sure not going to watch everything here when they air, but I really hope this time I'm not watching more than 10 airing anime at once. Including Precure (the one from this Winter), Pri Para (long running), Endride and Twin Star Exorcists (from Spring), and what I'm definitely watching, that's already 8 10.

 

EDIT: Edited in Amanchu! after it was pointed out, which easily makes it a must watch for me even though I haven't seen Aria (but for other reasons), but I need to (watch Aria, that is). Though, I've yet to finish M3, which actually wasn't all that interesting. But case in point, that wasn't Slice of Life, so... doesn't matter, I guess.

I'm not saying spring wasn't interesting, I'm sure I'll find something I'll really like at some point, but how is it that winter and summer are so much more interesting for me? I just felt like I could basically skip spring, and I'm glad to take breaks every once in a while, but my definitely watch is bigger than anyone else's so far.

 

Active Raid 2nd Season - Surprisingly really liked it. Well, maybe not since Code Geass' director was evolved and I have to keep saying that because I'm dumb. No way in hell the OP is gonna beat Golden Life, though

B-Project: Kodou＊Ambitious - Idols. I had burn out the last time I tried male idol focused, but was pretty sure I'd like it, so now, yay

Handa-kun - Barakamon prequel

Love Live! Sunshine!! - Idols

New Game! - Designs... or rather one of them definitely caught my interest... praise our Lord and sa-cow

Rewrite - I really do need to find a way to deal with VNs better, what I've seen so far was hilarious. I know it won't be all just fun and games...

Show By Rock!! Short!! - Just... yes

Tsukiuta. The Animation - Found out via ANN this is an idol thing. Come on man, say it in your description, I want to be able to Ctrl+F that

Of course gotta check out that Planetarian ONA.

Definitely Love Live Sunshine. I really like the songs which have been released so the wait os killing me (albeit mainly because I want RikoxYou shipping material).

 

Shokugeki no Soma season 2 and Rewrite are also on my watch list.

 

I'm not sure about Planetarian as it is either watch it and spoil the Visual Novel, or buy the VN and spoil the Movie/ONAs. I'm going to watch it anyway just trying to decide what to do first.

 

Probably will check out other things while they air.

Though it doesn't say on the charts, Twin Star Exorcists from this season will be continuing in Summer. I learned this from an ANN article that that says i☆Ris will perform the new OP in July (that puts my definitely watching list up to 9, including airing anime from other seasons).

 

Now I'm more hype for this OP than any anime this Summer. Guess I should probably give a reason why that is. It's because the members of i☆Ris each voice a main character in my favorite anime (Pri Para).

D. Gray Man - O BOI ITS D GRAY MAN. NOTHING ELSE NEEDS TO BE SAID

Handa-kun - Maybe. I really liked Barakamon but I don't like the idea of a high school spin-off.

Rewrite - Big maybe. When was the last time an adaptation did a VN justice that wasn't Steins;gate?

Zesty - Can't  be arsed to play the game. And I liked the OVA that came out way earlier.

 

idk, summer always seem to be a lackluster season for me.

Shokugeki no Soma: Ni no Sara - YES MORE FOOD PORN AND PORN PORN

Amanchu - Heal my soul with cute girls with beautiful backdrops and positivity to the max. Written by the author of ARIA.

Berserk - funk yeah, time for some grimdark edgy goodness as Guts cuts up a bunch of demons and guts flies everywhere. ucwidt?

Mob Psycho 100 - psychic OPM hype. Well, I think it's different from OPM, but it's by the same writer.

 

Caught my eye:

Nejimaki Seirei Senki: Tenkyou no Alderamin - read some of the manga, it's alright. Will check it out cuz I love fantasy.

DAYS - I play soccer so I'm obligated to have a look.

Tales of Zestiria - it's ufotable and fantasy. The only remaining thing it needs is to be actually good.

I could stand to watch more PVs like I did years ago, but then I'd probably go overboard with what I find interesting. Case in point:

 

91 Days - It's this kind of thing that would interest me just barely enough at first, and then would generally fall off sooner or later. 

Amaama To Inazuma - I originally thought it could be like Usagi Drop or something. While obviously not as serious, I can no longer ignore that just plain adorableness. Will probably get hungry watching, though.

Amanchu! - Never got around to ARIA, always knew it would be good, and I'm just now remembering that I was actually already interested in this.

Ange Vierge - Well that world(s?) could very much be swell to look at. and the naked purple haired girl

Battery - I consider Chihayafuru a sport anime, and that was already emotional enough. The music in this PV... that small blurb on TvTropes (where I'm finding these. Thought they don't have everything... either I could watch these things as they come out, or if I miss any, there'll be compilations I'd rather not sit through already)... sign me up.

Cheer Danshi - I could maybe go for some male cheer leading that isn't traditionally Japanese.... is what I keep thinking, but then I'm like, no... but then I'm like... this could-------------------------

Fukigen No Mononokean - Cute things that need to be exorcised 

Masou Gakuen HXH - "A boy visits a military school and finds out that he has the ability to power girls up through indecent acts." Well, as long as the art is appealing... and it is, sweet. Iori Nomizu theme song especially gets me a little more pumped than I'd have ever thought, really happy to hear her again, just shame she doesn't seem to be voicing someone.

Regalia: The Three Sacred Stars - Yeah, maybe. especially since the PV showed more of the cuteness.

Qualidea Code - Oh god what is that song... I'm on board with just that. The three faction PVs showed more of the badass side that I would have liked to see before the season starts, so all good. 

 

Add to all that, Time Travel Girl that seems was just announced to be July looks interesting from the one visual I saw, compared to just one of others. Dunno why. OK... if I can watch 10 episodes of Comic Party today, I might be able to handle this stupidness...

I think it'd be a good idea to start stickying the seasonal anime threads.

 

1. Easy access to the season's list and the first page of posts should help find whoever else is excited for the shows you are.

 

2. Not every anime of the season will gets its own thread; some just won't be as widely watched as ERASED or SAO were. For the ones that don't, members can come here asking an open question about a show like how good/bad it is or they could make a notable observation/reaction they had that could entice whoever may be curious to watch it after hearing that. Sure, you could just say these in a status, but why not try to stir up some more activity in the section, right?

 

3. And, of course, members can list their impressions of the season a few weeks in and/or by the end of it.

 

That said:

Anyone seen Orange or Sweetness and Lightning yet? I was curious on people's first impressions if they're worth checking out.

I'm gonna watch those later today. I haven't gotten a chance to watch a lot of the new stuff so I'm going through it over the course of today. I watched 91 Days and New Game! today. 91 Days looks very promising, I like mafia drama stuff, and New Game! is so cute and funny.

 

More Arslan, JoJo, and Food Wars is also really good.

 

EDIT: Sweetness and Lightning had a really good first episode. But damn it all, I kept crying throughout the episode, I wasn't expecting these feels. TT.TT

Orange was good, too. I'd read the beginning of the manga that the first episode covered, but no further, and I'm really curious to see where this will go, the premise definitely hooks you.

I say give both a shot.

I think so too, for those reasons, as well as because it's kind of necrobumping if we wait the month or so and then see what people think at the end, even if it should be kind of okay for these kind of threads, and totally has been. Just It'd be even more okay for a stickied thread.
