Custom Cards on YGO?

Sluggaholic

Question

So, question: is it possible for me to port my fanmade cards to YGOPro to duel my friends with them? Printing them out and going through the process of trying to make them feel like real cards is a hassle, so I was wondering if I could avoid all that by having a sort of cheese-fest by putting my cards on YGOPro. Is it even possible? If so, can someone help me/send me a tutorial on how to?

Thanks guys. And yeah, I know about DP. But it's so glitchy and awkward that it's basically impossible to have a full game there. That's why I want to try YGOPro. Plus, it'll let me see where my serious cards stack up against the current meta. Thanks again peeps.

It depends on what type of cards you're trying to add, and the complexity of their effects. (For safety reasons, it's advised you rip things off of existing cards since those are already working [and modify them to whatever needs you want], but even that has limitations.)

Latter part I can confirm (though in my case, it's only AI matches and it misplays A LOT [though there are some cases where it actually plays properly; least with meta decks that don't already have a script to them).

There's actually some tutorials in the YGOPro section in Advanced Cards, but yeah the writing might be slightly confusing since I generally copy/pasted from my notes (and I have some degree of programming knowledge). The card database stuff should be in the SQL section of the tutorial.

But yes, it is possible to code your custom cards into YGOPro (I have a good chunk of mine coded in there; might release them later once I fix some things).

Just as a heads-up that the SQL part is easy, but actually coding the effects is a lot harder, depending on what you want. I'd generally advise copy+pasting stuff from existing cards, but some things may need to be coded on your own as we currently don't have cards that do what you need.
