Since it is one of the strongets acid in the world, witha pH level of 1.0. Maybe the phone is small, but formidable after allodds are it was in the process of melting, and that's the reason that he was getting incredibly sick, from the fumes of the plastic as it melted inside him). but stomach acid, while strong, doesn't immediately dissolve the things in it. it takes a few hours to digest food, and a phone is far more solid than a piece of chicken, so that would explain why it took so long. in addition, since the phone was smaller, i assume there'd be far fewer ways for the acid to penetrate the plastic to ruin the phone's interior (at least not very quickly), but either way, it was a stupid idea.
