During either player's turn when a "Mecha Phantom Beast Token(s)" is summoned the token's controller may target 1 card on the field; return the targeted card to its owner's hand. When this card is sent from the field to your graveyard by an opponent's card effect you may add "Mecha Phantom Beast" monsters from your graveyard to your hand up to the number "Mecha Phantom Beast Tokens" you control.

Card B

Assisted Launch

[Quick-Play Spell]

Tribute 1 or more "Mecha Phantom Beast Tokens"; Special Summon 1 "Mecha Phantom Beast" monster from your hand or Graveyard whose Level is equal to or less than the total Levels of the monster(s) Tributed this way.

Card A's OCG is right off. Second effect is fine, I wish it targeted, but that's just me, however, what's not just me is the lack of OPT on this effect. Considering it has to be your opponent's card, I guess it would be fine, as adding to your hand isn't as prevalent as Special Summoning and MPB are slow af. As for the first effect, no. Just, no. Return cards to the hand every time you summon one of their tokens, with no OPT? Phantom Beasts may be slow, but not that slow. I feel that is far too powerful.

Card B is something the archetype desperately needs. Special Summoning a Phantom beast at SS2 while also Tributing monsters monsters you control? This adds to the speed of the archetype while not making it too fast or powerful. While the above might make them just a powerful engine, this would help MPB as a whole and is limited by the fact that MPB is not great at all right now.

Vote for Card B, because A) Card A has quite a few OCG problems and B) It is extremely broken

Well, it's 1-0 card B so that means Gadjiltron takes this one (although given how this tournament works, now there's a second match to decide the winner). I'll mention the theme later.

But anyway, my (unofficial review).

Card A is generally asking for trouble in conjunction with Aerial Recharge and the like, especially since former can generate Tokens on your opponent's turn and that triggers stuff too. Though, I was doing a few more test runs on YGOPro with them to see how often they do SS Tokens in this era; still quite a bit. Other effect is generally fine, though at best, I think you can only retrieve maybe 2-3 cards at most for ideal setups (you can have more, but you won't be able to combo as well), though you can recover dead resources, which they don't really have a way of doing.

Card B is nice for removing excess Tokens that you don't need, and SSing a new monster to either Xyz/Synchro if you so choose. Granted, I do wish it'd let you remove other Tokens (as MPB still run Scapegoat for stuff too), but as-is, should be fine.

So yeah, card B would've gotten it for me. I'd vote A if not for the fact the first effect lacks an OPT (even though bouncing threats is appreciated).
