Fox's Reflector

OBJECTION!

 

Phoenix: Detective, I-

Gumshoe: Oh boy, pal. You got that "I just found a contradiction" look in your eye.

Phoenix: (That's on your face, detective.) Indeed, your statement does contradict with the facts. See this Reflector here?

Gumshoe: Hey, it's really blue. You know, I've always liked the color blue.

 

OBJECTION!

 

Edgeworth: Wright, where are you going with this?

Phoenix: The Reflector I've just showed you, is my client's. As you can see, it's much different then the one found at the crime!

Edgeworth: Gah!

Gumshoe: W-Wait a second, pal! How do you know that's really his? How do you know he didn't steal it?

Phoenix: Umm (Gah! Foiled by Detective Gumshoe, not a very good thing for a defense attorney.)

Edgeworth: I'm sorry, Gumshoe. But this is Fox's Reflector.

Gumshoe: Huh? What do you mean, sir?!

Edgeworth: I thought it was strange when we arrested Fox, and he still had his reflector on him. So I did a little research. Turns out that blue reflector's are Star Fox issued, while red reflector's are Star Wolf issued.

Phoenix: (I knew it!)

Edgeworth: Of course, that doesn't mean that Fox didn't just take a Star Wolf reflector and tried to frame a member of Star Wolf.

Phoenix: (Why do you always have to rain on my parade Edgeworth. But wait, there's something odd about this reflector.) Edgeworth, there is no way my client could've stolen a Star Wolf reflector.

Edgeworth: And why is that Wright?

Phoenix: Simple, this piece of evidence proves it!

Phoenix: (That's not exactly something to be proud of detective.)

Phoenix: Edgeworth, there is no way my client could've stolen a Star Wolf reflector.

only thing i can think of is that if fox had stolen this refelector his prints would be on it' date=' but it states that the prints are "unidentified"

Agreed. The un ID'd prints can't be Fox's because if they were his they would be ID'd as his prints are on the blaster.

Phoenix: Gumshoe, did you do a fingerprint scan of this item?

Gumshoe: Y-Yeah, why do you ask?

Phoenix: What exactly were the results?

Gumshoe:...Nobody in our database matched.

 

OBJECTION!

 

Edgeworth: Grr, Gumshoe!

Gumshoe: Sorry, sir.

Edgeworth: *sigh* No matter, we have a witness that will clear everthing up.

Phoenix: W-What!

Judge: Then quickly! Bring him in!

Edgeworth: Just a note, Your Honor. The witness is female. But nevertheless, the prosecution calls Princess Peach to the stand.

 

*fade out*

*fade in*

 

Edgeworth: Witness, name and occupation?

???: Peach, I'm a princess.

Judge: A...Princess? That's a bit of an odd ocupation.

Peach: Well, I am who I am.

Edgeworth: Indeed, now then. Please testify on what you saw.

Peach: Gladly.

Phoenix: (Oh boy, I can tell where this headed.)

 

*Witness Testimony*

 

Part 1: I hear Bowser coming, so I hid in the closet with the door open a creak.

Part 2: That's when he came.

Part 3: He rose the blaster and shot Bowser straight in the forehead.

Part 4: That's when the murderer ran off.

Part 5: Of course, I never actually saw his face.

 

Phoenix:...

Judge:...

Edgeworth:...Grr, darn you Gumshoe! You promised me a witness that would clear all doubt!

Phoenix: (Looks like Gumshoe will be eating instant noodles for the next 20 years.)

Judge: I don't know how much good it will do, but the defense may begin the cross-examination.

Phoenix: Of course, Your Honor.

 

*Cross-Examination*

 

Part 1: I hear Bowser coming, so I hid in the closet with the door open a creak.

Part 2: That's when he came.

Part 3: He rose the blaster and shot Bowser straight in the forehead.

Part 4: That's when the murderer ran off.

Part 5: Of course, I never actually saw his face.

Peach: That's correct.

Phoenix: And why is that?

Peach: He was wearing this brown cloak that covered his whole body. I couldn't see anything about him, except for one thing.

Phoenix: Huh? What's that?

Peach: When he rose the blaster, he was wearing gloves.

Phoenix: Your Honor, I would like that added to the testimony!

Judge: A-Alright, Mr. Wright. No need to shout.

Phoenix: Ms. Peach. You claim the murderer was wearing gloves, correct?

Peach: Yes, that is correct.

Phoenix: That is a blatant contradiction.

Peach: W-What?

Phoenix: If the murderer was truly wearing gloves, then my client's fingerprints shouldn't be on the murder weapon!

 

OBJECTION!

 

Edgeworth: Then tell me, Wright. What is your answer for this contradiction?

Phoenix: It's fairly obvious. The answer is...

 

Fox's Blaster is not the murder weapon

Option 1: The Blaster is not the murder weapon sounds good, but being a vet of the GS games, I go with Option 2: The witness is the real murderer. What other motive would Peach have to lie? Plus, SHE wears gloves. As Wolf and Falco are the only other options, Option 2 is the most likely at this point. Plus, the prosecution tend to unknowingly use the real killer as a witness in GS.

Edgeworth: Wright, you have a habit for saying insane things, but this is just preposterous! What proof do you have?

Phoenix: Um, well, she wears gloves, right? So, um, yeah! She must be the murderer!

Edgeworth: Please, Wright. If that's the case, the murder weapon must be different!

Phoenix: Gah! (He's right...wait, maybe...) I think I've figured it out! It's true, the murderer wore gloves.

Edgeworth: But that's a contradiction, Wright. The defendant's fingerprints are on the murder weapon!

Phoenix: Exactly. That's why I'm suggesting, a different blaster was used for the murder!

Edgeworth: Heh, Wright. You amuse me, who else could've used a blaster to kill the victim. The defendant himself stated that he was the only one who could've used it.

Maya: But didn't Fox say he was just covering for Falco?

Phoenix: Indeed, but I think there's another person who could've used it, and this is that person!

Edgeworth: Wright, who is this person?

Phoenix: This would be Wolf O' Donnel, leader of the elite mercenary group Star Wolf. I think he's the real murderer, after all, how could you not run space mercenary group without at least basic knowledge of using one.

Judge: So, are you calling him as a witness?

Phoenix: Indeed, Your Honor.

Judge: Very well, it looks like we'll have to suspend today's trial to-

 

OBJECTION!

 

Edgeworth: 30 minutes.

Judge: W-What?

Edgeworth: Give me 30 minutes, Your Honor. I promise I'll bring this Mr. O' Donnel fellow here by then.

Judge: Very well, the court will take a 40 minute recess.

Phoenix: (Finally, I'll expose the true murderer of this case.)

 

Defendant's Lobby

Fox: So, Wolf did it. Eh?

Phoenix: That's what it looks like.

???: Hey! Good show in there busta!

Maya: Hey look, it's Falco!

Falco: Hey, good to see ya, Fox!

Fox: It's been a while Falco.

Falco: Yeah, how long has it been? Eh, I've lost count.

Fox: Haha, same as always.

Falco: Anyways, so Wolf did it, eh, busta?

Phoenix: That's what it looks like anyway, he has perfect motive. Which I will expose in court.

Baliff: Mr. Wright, the recess is over.

Phoenix: All right, I'll be right in. (Wow, that seemed shorter then 40 minutes.)

 

Court Room

 

Judge: Court is now back in session for the trial of Fox Mcloud. Did the prosecution find this witness?

Edgeworth: Indeed, Your Honor. Even though I doubt how much bearing this will have on the case.

Judge: Very well, bring him to the stand.

 

Phoenix: (Wow, he looks even more intimidating then in the picture.)

???: Awooo! What are you looking at, punk!

Phoenix: Gah! *hides under desk* Darn it, Maya! Why do you always do this!? *returns* Sorry, dropped my pencil.

Edgeworth: Indeed, now then. Name and occupation?

???: Why do I have to tell you, punk?

Edgeworth: Name. And occupation.

???:...Wolf O' Donnel. Mercenary.

Edgeworth: Now then, please testify your relevance to the crime.

Wolf: Tch, fine. Don't know how much it'll do you. Ain't that right, Spike?

Phoenix: Heh? Me?

Wolf: You're the one who called me here, aincha?

Phoenix: Gah! (Why does Maya have to eat so many burgers?)

Maya: I heard that!

Phoenix: Gah! Stop kicking me!

Edgeworth: *sigh* Please, go on with your testimony.

Wolf: Fine.

Edgeworth: Wright! Get out from under the table!

Wolf: That's right, Spike. And according to red boy here, you're going to come up with some wild fantasy on how I do have a motive.

Phoenix: (Gee, thanks Edgeworth. You're a real pal.)

(It's not mentioned, but it's fairly obvious that he would've pieced 2 and 2 together after Edgeworth told him about the murder, and why he was summoned to court. Btw, 20 points to anyone if they can catch a pop-culture reference ;)
