Depends what you're looking for in the game series there's merits to starting with several.

 

Blazing Sword (7): Because it's the first one released to the west. It's a solid game with all the typical mechanics. Also you'd like Lyn.

Sacred Stones (8): Because it's pretty easy but has a great cast so it's easy to get invested

Awakening (13): Fairly easy, updated gameplay, ability to have more than 5 Support conversations total (In older games you could, for instance, have on A rank and one B rank for each character), and a more modern (graphically not like modern day) look.

Most likely would be one of the GBA ones. I've played the Awakening demo and enjoyed it but I'm broke so can't really get it. Might start with Blazing Sword, as after reading through Lyn's personality on the wiki I do like her. Was leaning a bit towards Sacred Stones as from playing Heroes Eirika has become my favourite unit in it, but might as well start with a game where I know basically nothing about the characters.
