Kaiju X-Files
Continuous Spell Card
Each time one or more "Kaiju" Monsters are Special Summoned from the hand or Graveyard, put 1 Kaiju Counter on this card (max.  5). Once per turn: you can target 1 "Kaiju" monster on the field; destroy it, then Special Summon 1 "Kaiju" monster from your Deck with a different original name to the controller's side of the field.  You can send this card with 3 or more Kaiju Counters to the Graveyard; add 1 "Kaiju" Spell or Trap Card from your Deck to your hand, except "Kaiju X-Files".

Very interesting. It doesn't solve the issue of working off empty fields in the early game, but it adds flexibility in the mid-to-late game in allowing you to work off empty fields by using something like Call of the Haunted to put a Kaiju on your field, then use this to put on your opponent's side instead to begin instigating combos. Allows you to thin the deck, search for the S/T's, and keep hand presence going. Very interesting as a card; but hopefully the rest work on that ol' early game issue.

Wait, if this destroys a kaiju on your opponents field, it summons another kaiju to their field instead of making you plus....?

Hope the translation is wrong or I'm misunderstanding the 'controller's side of the field' part.

That's pretty much what it's saying, if the translation is correct.  Basically it helps you get rid of a possibly stronger Kaiju you gave your opponent in exchange for a weaker one, all while thinning your Deck.

i'm much more curious about the sketch left side of Dogoran, looks like Dogoran (the head) but but . . . and looks like metal part were equipped to it (armor and wings), so Metal-kaiju?

....

........

Holy funk- I'd honestly love to see them make Mecha-Kaijus.

it's not too far fetched considering we have yet to see mecha godzilla, mecha king gidorah, or a king kong monster.

but beyond that, this card actually gains counters from it's kaiju removal effect, and that's amazing. in addition, it's not hard OPT, so having 2-3 out means you can easlily cycle monsters with it while putting massive amounts of counters on the field. combined with interrupted slumber, that means you could possibly put out 7 or more counters by turn two it might not solve the initial empty field, but once the field has a monster, this card definitely starts putting in work.

as an aside, has there been any leaks of kaiju-specific cards that summon them from grave? because if not, i'd like to see one that details the creation of mecha kaiju monsters.

jizukiru brah

jizu was more likely base gidorah. why would the mecha come before the original?

but yeah, kaiju and kozmo are bot finished after this, so i'm hoping they finally reveal something that'll help pure kaiju get off the ground.
