LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
So most of you probably know that Mana Burn was a thing where, if you end your turn with excess mana in your mana pool at the end of the phase, you take damage. Now, it's no longer a thing. And I'm sure there was a discussion when it first changed. But I got curious what you all thought now, that it's been gone for a while. Is it good or bad it was taken out? And, to have more discussion, what changed most with this rule shift?
Simping For Hina
Can't have it, as it makes no sense game wise. Mana doesn't clear at the end of the turn, but at the end of phases. If you dealt with mana burn during every phase, the game would be even more complicated. It is unhealthy for the game, and much better to get rid of it. It is fun to joke around about, but nothing more.

(GigaDrillBreaker)
Complexity is nice, but too much is not. Damage shouldn't go on the stack, tapped blockers should deal damage, Jace beleren and clones shouldn't be removal spells, and mana burn shouldn't exist. The rules right now are pretty much the cleanest and most effective they have ever been. That said, I'm not personally a fan of the change in the mechanics of playing lands a few years ago, but that's no big deal. The card that changed the most from these rules is Radha, Heir to Keld. When mana burn existed, her mana on attack was much more usable, but held the downside of hurting you. Braid of Fire is similar. Spectral Searchlight also had use from mana burn, but that use wasn't particularly good.
