Dova
Before I vote, ruling question on Card B. If it has 5 mats, and my opponent has 6 cards in hand, can I activate effect?
Spinny
Lets look at card B first.> Alternate summoning condition> 2700 Attack> Will discard minimum of 2 cards, easily 4 due to alternate summoning condition. That's waaaayyy tooo good. You can just play it in a synchro deck like speedroids and turn 1 make opponent drop 4 cards from hand by using Terrortop and ditching trishula/Mist Wurm from ED, it also 2700 attack to boot. Card A feels alot more balanced, the alternate summoning condition takes atleast 4 monsters really, and the flavor of being unaffected by non-numbers (similar to how they were in the anime) is kinda genius imoIt's powerful but i doubt it will break anything, you can usually easily run over it. Quick question though, do the materials of the xyz monsters also transfer over to it? Even if it does, it feels far less powerful than B. Flash Flyer - Sakura
I'm double checking with evilfusion about how card B can trigger (assuming you can still work with it + opponent just loses their whole hand if you have enough mats), but yeah 1-0 for now. Trebuchet MS
Card ADue to that vital lack of a clause that transfers Materials, I'm inclined to believe it starts off with 2 Materials, making it a pretty strong 2700/2700 with a variant on the anime-only Number protection. If it did retain the Materials of its predecessors, it is likely to start off going up to 4900/4900 which is a scary thought to consider. The card's stats will usually only go up from there due to it resisting a lot of removal, and 2700 is very difficult to beat in a straight-up fight without assistance - let's also not forget how you need to beat it in battle 3 times if you don't have any Numbers on you that can deal with it. I feel the ATK boost can scale down to 200 per Material and it would be fair. Card BInteresting alt-Summon. But won't this mean that I can swap out a Synchro play for this monster? This makes the monster a substitute for any 1 Synchro Monster in my Extra Deck and its Rank 6 status no longer matters. Junk Synchron + Level 2 monster = this card for instance. That's one hefty payoff. We've learnt time and again in Yugioh that discards are pretty powerful stuff. Force a discard without any means of compensating and you can mess up your opponent's play. There's a slight counterbalance in that your opponent gets to choose what they discard (since I'm not seeing the word "random" there), but 2 discards at once is really damaging, even if it's a one-off usage due to how the card is worded. That, and with the right Deck that can field 3 or more monsters in quick succession for a Synchro play, this card just shows up with 3 mats, forces your opponent to discard 4, and gives them a pretty bad time if it's turn 1. It's a more accessible parallel to the Hunter loop. The VerdictThere's a reason why Delinquent Duo is banned. Card A gets the vote.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
I did check with evilfusion about card B; unless it says EXACTLY that many cards (it doesn't really say here, so be patient as I confirm that with B's creator). I think it should work, even if the opponent does not have 2 x this card's mats. (There's a reason why I PM evilfusion about ruling issues if sheet arises) For now, I'll accept the votes as 2-0. ---Spinda, I don't believe that the mats will carry over, since that general text on Xyz Monsters / RUM cards that says they transfer over isn't there. (Let me look up the rulings for F0)
Flash Flyer - Sakura
I am literally 10 hours late on this one, but yeah card A wins 2-0; in other words, UltimateIRS wins and moves on.
