Mutant Monster RAEG-HAPYP
I didn't know how to title this, but this is very disturbing information. http://www.cnn.com/2016/04/15/us/chicago-police-task-force-disturbing-findings/index.html Chicago already has a staggering rate of violence, and if the people sworn to uphold the law are just as bad, I can't see how it can get any better. I still respect the cops who actually do their job, but this makes me wonder just how many of that kind of cop is left in the CPD.
Ryusei the Morning Star
If the allegations are true, the cop acted according to law.
Aerion Brightflame
Some of those stats seem a little biased, or at least misrepresentations. Whilst the disproportionate amount of Blacks being shot is undoubtedly an issue, as are most of the stats, it would be nice to see it cross referenced with say poverty and general crime rates in areas by population. Because I imagine it won't be too much of a stretch to say the areas with the high Black population will also have higher poverty and crime rates on average. But yes, racial disparity in crime is an issue especially towards Blacks. It has been an issue since essentially the War of Drugs using crack-cocaine to paint them as an enemy and undermine communities. It's not shock that police officers will see a racial group plastered as an 'enemy' will be treated worse than the other ones. Combined with poverty and a lack of social mobility means you get a lot of disfranchised people getting into drugs or crime to feel like they have some purpose in life. So you know, the stats are awful but it's less of a chicago police racial issue, and more of a social issue within these communities that have been present for years leading to inflated crime rates. To my understanding, even if Chicago police didn't have any racial issues, you'd still probably see dis-propionate amounts of Blacks being arrested for crimes due to the social circumstances of a lot of communities in these cities. Essentially the article is trying to portray a very complex issue as a very simplistic problem.
mido9
Kinda related vid: Yeah, chicago is a massive mess of crime, poverty, debt and skyrocketing rent costs. Its public services(police etc) are also less than 30% funded.
cr47t
Wtf is it with the people in Chicago that this keeps happening? Sheesh.

I mean, if the people sworn to uphold the law aren't doing their job, who will? I feel many people would not do the job of law enforcement, even if you pay them more than what cops usually earn.
