MY SPIRIT ANIMAL CARD IS PRINTED?! HUR DUR HURAAA!!!

but despite the hyper-joy. its still a challenge to summon this beast. it can be summoned faster sure. but fitting and protecting a level 1 Normal monster in your deck and play is not an easy feat. the dual nerf & buff on the requirement give me mixed feelings. as it can speed up the accumulation of counter by running more copies (flavor wise kinda live up the legend as the hardest common card to summoned) ...and therefore more bricking. but its less assuring than the original since you need to search this card first before you you start to gather the counters.

Zushin...SMASH!

Not that I would say monster reincarnation is a good card, however you could reveal it, cycle it and reveal again for a second counter and if you can keep something like that up can summon it in 1 turn or a mere 2 turns ... fusion gate loop to summon it in 1 turn ... for whatever that it worth.

it has to remain revealed until the end of the turn though, so revealing it and discarding it would do nothing. on the other hand, having 3 in hand would lead to 3 counters per turn if i'm reading it right. also, this card had better not be rare or short printed. it has to be the most common of any common card ever printed.

Revealing it is a cost, you reveal it and keep it revealed is basically what that means, it places it counter after you first activate it, re-adding it would actually mean you can activate the card again.

Huh. On one hand, I'm shocked we got this. On the other hand, I feel like this was to be expected at some point.

Pretty much similar to the anime version then (except it's also unaffected by card effects that don't target too). Shame the art is different.

Remember when this card was seen on the poster for the fake "World of Nightshroud" set last year?

Haha, yeah. I remember that. Good times.

Sandaion, the Timelord was also one of the cards, which pleased me (Though I'm sure some guys here shuddered that).

True, though the reason why I brought up Gimmick Box was because it was the first thing I remembered from that fake poster. (One of four things, the others being Sandaion, this and Groundbreaking)

keeping L1 on the field is hard, and the easiest way to do is using Safe Zone

but then safe zone is easily pop*d with mst and the rest . . . but well we have Meklord Emperor Wisel to negate Spell eff, and L1 too

then again, that is if you really want to summon this card so badly, well for fun

It would have been garbage even when it was shown in the anime; it's meant to be garbage.

Never actually seen any 5Ds but from what I recall it wasn't supposed to be shite, just ridiculously hard to summon which made it essentially worthless and basically everyone had a copy of it.

It is shite because it's so hard to Summon, no matter how powerful it is when you can actually bring it out.  Team Taiyou won most of their matches by other means, but in their very last duel in the WRGP, they managed to bring it out because no member of Team 5Ds had an answer to their Hand-Holding Genie setup.

My point is that even if it was released back then, it'd be virtually impossible to bring out, so saying it was released "too late" is pointless.  When I said it's meant to be trash, I didn't mean whoever created it in-universe intended it to be trash (though that's debatable); I meant that it being almost unusable and an "against-the-odds" card was what defined it in the anime, and if you wanted to be faithful to its flavour, the same should go for its IRL version.
