the fact they scapegoated it to save another card in Equalizer pisses me off

Yeah, but its ban wasn't for the purpose of killing that deck. It was because of how it is a better upstart in some decks, as a result of synergy with field spells. Dolphin's post on page 2 in the upstart thread explains it wonderfully.

The TCG list doesn't really care about rogue decks, for the most part. The only hits I can really think of to kill such decks would be Morphing Jar #2, and the limit of Final Countdown. SDB is a similar case, but it was causing a much bigger issue in the metagame, so I won't count it.

Excluding random unbans, the TCG list caters to tier 1-2, and makes hits that will have an effect on this environment. Though life equalizer is, in my opinion, the problem card for the ftk decks (draw engines will continue to be released, and magical explosion can be replaced with blasting the ruins) chicken game was banned due to its effect on tier 1-2 games. I'm not going to argue about whether it was the correct hit, or anything of the sort, as that is just a waste of mental effort, but that clarification ought to be made.

Preface: I love this card and am quite pissed about this. Quite kneejerk but I doubt my sentiment will change.

For funk sake. Why does this need to be banned, let alone on the list at all. Yes you can run 3 Upstart 2 Terraforming 3 Chicken wooo 32 card deck too strong. Only it's not because if it was actually that relevant you'd see every deck running it, but somehow you don't, because archetypes have their own searchers and deck thinners, and the only thing this does is help boost the relative power level of combo-oriented decks by allowing them reach their pieces faster.

Seriously, what relevance did this actually have? All I'm aware of is the Monarch FTK that actually did something, and in that case... funking, why is this the hit. Why not the funking Life Equalizer of Magical Explosion, you know, the actual win condition. Why are you hitting the cards that generically enable and bolster a load of decks that would otherwise be too slow or unreliable to function decently, and just generically improve consistency, instead of the 1 retarded combo that exists that makes it supposedly list-worthy.

Look, this is a perfectly fair card. You play it, pay 1000, draw 1. Now what. In theory you've gone +1 but you've done it by using what is now a dead card that protects your opponent. If you can't do anything to get it off the field, you're funked, because your opponent will get the draw and then your supposed plus is evened and arguably becomes a minus. If you have another field spell to replace it with great, but if it's Pseudo Space then you're probably going for the ftk anyway in which case ban the fucks themselves not this.

Basically my point is, all my archetype decks I've used since this card's release, I've used it in maybe 1 and then cut it. Combo decks it's in everything and they're all totally dead now because I've to come up with 7 new cards where the Terra/Upstart/Chicken engine was. This is by and large not needed by any modern archetypes because they have their own consistency engines and adding this engine would require scrapping elements to boost the speed at which you can access what remains. It requires intelligent use outside of the shitty otk/ftk too but I'm just so sad now that this has happened and I've sworn a lot and someone please kill me because my decks are already dead anyway.

I got to play Brilliant Fusion Madolche for the last time last sunday. Deck wasn't even that stellar with the card, so playing it without will be a hassle.

I bet people will still end up making Magical Explosion Life Equalizer work, just because Konami did nothing to the actual problem cards.
