New York passes law to give up to 12 weeks of paid family leave.

For those who don't know, for some strange reason, the U.S. is the only country among the industrialized nations that doesn't guarantee this sort of thing via some sort of law. A couple of states do have it, according to this article, but New York took it a step further.
