Night
To play Devil's Advocate, there's a lot of misconceptions floating around about obesity and overrating. People need to be able to make their own informed decisions. For example, I am totally in favor of calorie count being printed on everything. I absolutely agree with that though, give people ample information so that they can make informed decisions, but don't remove a decision completely simply because a percentage of the populous lacks the intelligence to monitor themselves. Still not discussing personal ideas on it butJust to devil's advocate for a moment, like Tenta, lol nice timingIsn't letting people have access to easy crappy sheet food more coddling? It isn't because we're merely adding the option for said "crappy sheet food" The common misconception behind junk food is that it's only for people who like to eat sheet and don't care about their body. However, many people benefit from said food during weight/muscle gaining regiments. As long as you're informed about what's actually going into your body and how it correlates to what your body needs, food that works for you, works for you. LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
I just want less expensive vegetables tbh. I miss being able to afford them.No but really, if there was a way to make healthy foods less expensive, I'd love that.

There's also the rise of high fructose corn syrup which is basically just a delayed heart attack used as a replacement for sugar: If you want cheaper veg and real sugar, start telling the government to stop regulating it in favor of shitty food and to deregulate it, not to regulate it. Aerion Brightflame
Tackling obesity is about more than just banning Junk Food. Reducing the price of vegetables and other healthy alternatives is only a start, the biggest possible change I feel that could happen is if people get paid more. If people are paid more, they don't have to work such crappy, physically exhausting jobs that leave prepare decent, healthy meals feeling like more of a task than it's worth. Or funk, even just reducing financial stress and associated depression would help, because people in poverty will be less likely to eat shitty food and drink a tonne just to feel a little better. It's amazing how much in theory could be dealt with if most people had a little more money in life.
Astolfo
As if the fast food/junk food companies would ever let something like that happen :P

epicmemesbro
NYC almost had a law passed that prevents fast food chains from selling large drinks, which is really impractical to begin with. I mean, its like being a race car driver, you chose to be it and there is high levels of risk but no ban on it. It's a lifestyle choice not a legal or political matter in my opinion.
