This could easily be from a gallery. Seb McKinnon is as close as this game gets to fine art.

Also, getting real Eldrazi vibes.

And, just in general, there's a star-nosed mole, a genuinely good red werewolf at rare, Thalia's not evil, a gryff reference, cool things.

I'll have a nice in-depth look later.

Newly-spoiled cards that perk my interest for EDH:

  • Autumnal Gloom // Ancient of the Equinox: Not because it's necessarily good, but damn, that flavor is on point. It's also a way to fill up your graveyard, albeit slowly.
  • Behind the Scenes: Iunno, could be a way to get your utility creatures through in the lategame to deal damage?
  • Cryptolith Rite: Turning all of your guys into dorks is pretty damn good. I can think of a lot of utility guys who aren't going to be going on the offense in my decks. Might as well put them to work some other way.
  • Essence Flux: Hey, it's at least a blue Cloudshift. And if I want to do Brago spirit tribal, this is an auto-include.
  • Geistblast: A neat little trick to duplicate your killspell or counterspell. The primary effect is mediocre but I guess that's intentional. Also interesting that it's the only one of the enemy color cycle to not be an enchantment. Don't have anywhere to put it, but it's something to consider longterm.
  • Open the Armory: Tutor ho! I know I'll find a deck that can use this - maybe if Heliod gets rebuilt at some point.

Other cards that I like and want to test:

  • Altered Ego
  • Anguished Unmaking
  • Descend upon the Sinful
  • Drownyard Temple
  • Eerie Interlude
  • Obsessive Skinner
  • Ongoing Investigation
  • Seasons Past
  • Soul Swallower
  • Traverse the Ulvenwald

Final thoughts:

  • Is it just me, or does this set have so many more interesting enchantments than Theros, the enchantment block, ever did?
  • I also really want to make a casual investigate deck, if only to play Weirding Wood. That card is so pretty.

I spy with my little eye a card for Grenzo. Neat.

Is that Epitaph Golem? :')

Yeah, I'm getting that impression; I think they were too fixated on making everything else enchantments to print a wide variety of actual pure enchantments.  Granted, the Gods and their weapons + bestow were neat stuff.

This is a shoe-in for Doran, the Siege Tower EDH.
