Flash Flyer - Sakura
Going back to sig/tag stuff for a while (and I need to work on this anyway). Should be helpful for improving my custom image creation later on. This time, no solid color / brushes for BG and no border behind the focus.(I think the space on the right could be reduced a bit more though, but it shouldn't be to the same extent as previous pieces). (Supposed to be floral themed, with raindrops covering the flowers in the BG.) Originally made this in an 850 x 350 canvas and saved as .png files in separate sizes.Signature and banner sizes are below (it's easier to see when image is larger) [spoiler=Banner/Sig size] Should be the same width as my standard stuff, but slightly taller. Flash Flyer - Sakura
I have the .xcf file if you want it (aside from a few things, most stuff I do is on GIMP). While I do have access to CS3, some features are technically disabled (like importing brushes). That, and it's on my XP drive (which I am not using at the moment). Smear
this is probably the best i've seen from you. one tip i can give is try making tags at a set 400x200 (roughly) size instead of making huge banners and downscaling. I think you'll see a lot of improvement.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
I owe part of the improvement to Catman and a lot of you guys for the CnC since the time I came back (at least in terms of the background). But I can try doing them in smaller sizes (I think I did this back then, but they weren't as awesome)
Catman25
Looking good, I think one thing to focus on would be defining that focal point. The bg is pretty busy and a lot of the smaller petals/droplets distract from your render. I hate to sound contradictory, but having that negative/empty space, is often necessary, and may sometimes come in the form of solid colors, or just low action bgs. It's really all about using your effects to make your focal stand out
