MiracleGhost47
There are so many things we can learn about... even the things we shouldn't. What are some facts you know that you regret learning? Additionally, do you prefer to see the world as it is presented, or through "rose-tinted" glasses? Zauls
Was fully expecting this thread to be about banning the burqa... Anyway, it's near impossible to view the world as it actually is because you can only judge the majority of it through what you see in the media. Mainstream media only tells you what it wants to tell you, which is often biased, selective or outright untrue. I suppose the beginning of "seeing the world as it is" is being able to realize that. Aix
Seeing the world without bias is not possible, partially because what Zauls said, partially because we impose our own bias on everything anyway. That said, I prefer knowledge to ignorance, I view the world relatively positively regardless.
Fusion X. Denver
I'll echo everyone's sentiments in this thread: knowledge over ignorance and it's impossible to escape bias. As for facts I regret learning, probably the existence of Boku no Pico.
~ P O L A R I S ~
Both. I see the world as it is presented through rose-coloured glasses.
Ryusei the Morning Star
Conservative media exists, everything is tinted to the ignorant these days. Case in point. The point being, media has polarized people so much that 1) Most of us are bigots2) Most of use don't even realize it but I'm beating a dead horse here ain't I? Susie
Yeah seeing the world crystal clear is always best but sometimes its not that easy to get the clear perspective with bias being inhabited within all of us, blah blah blah... But to add something new theres nothing that I regret learning of, even bad discoveries have their merit and advantage to them.
