Sorin must face his demons by destroying his angel.

That...is sad to consider that Sorin may wind up being the one to have to end what he created to make sure that humanity isn't erased from Innistrad.

EDIT: Also, I just found the trailer for this set on the main site, and I definitely say that 'madness' is good word for what's going on...and that Jace is both the best and worst one to be sent here. While he would be the best for solving the puzzles that have emerged, he's also the worse for a specific reason: the moment he truly winds up dropping his guards, the madness will take over him as well.

set looks interesting, wonder what makes Avacyn go nuts.

I'm guessing some otherworldly Lovecraftian entity we've yet to see (not necessarily Emrakul, though I'm not ruling her out), and this entity is probably responsible for the other bizarre stuff happening as well (aside from what we know has been Nahiri's doing).  To take it further, this entity is using the moon as a conduit for its powers, or is in the moon for reasons, hence "Eldritch Moon".

The trailer, heron-shaped cryptoliths, cultists, rituals and corruption all point to some outside influence IMO.

btw, this theory is from rinne

Anyway, the "markov massacre" would throw off the balance Avacyn preserves. Solution? Kill all humans.

Except, doesn't Avacyn's power just wane when the balance tips in favour of humans, which in turn gives the vamps and other non-humans more power to re-adjust the balance?

Unless it's some last-ditch, never-before-mentioned safeguard that turns her power up and makes her go ham in the event the vamps are actually being annihilated, this still seems a bit odd.  At the very least, this doesn't appear to be something Sorin intended IMO.

I don't think it's Emrakul because of Incorrigible Youth, despite it seeming like the most damning piece of evidence to it being Emrakul.

If you look at Emrakul and her brood, they all have tentacles, carapaces, but a lack of eyes and, most importantly, SYMMETRY.

Emrakul seems to make sure her creations are perfectly symmetrical, as she is herself. It's kind of her calling card.

And the Incorrigible Youth are anything but symmetrical, with the mutations appearing to be totally chaotic and random.

I think something else is causing this madness, and it has to do with the moon.

I see your point; it's worth noting though that a few of them do in fact have tentacle-like growths.

The funny thing is that some guys are speculating it to be Marit Lage, which is arguably even weirder than Emrakul.
