thanonyx
[spoiler=Lore]LIGHT, Dragon/Effect, Level 8, ATK 2800, DEF 2800If this card is Special Summoned from the Graveyard: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls or in their Graveyard; banish it, and if you do, this card gains ATK and DEF equal to the banished monster's Level/Rank x 100. If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can target 1 Level 7 or 8 Dragon-Type monster in either player's Graveyard, except "Felgrand, the Great Divine Dragon"; Special Summon it to your side of the field. Hey check it out, Felgrand went and got himself retrained! As usual, his effect only really comes into play if he's special summoned from the graveyard which gives him a stat buff depending on what is in your opponent's grave. Also, now he has a new effect that can summon more high level dragons every time he destroys a monster. He also now has more support cards than he used to have back in the day like the Paladin of Felgrand and the Guardian of Felgrand. He can easily make a combo with his original counterpart as well as his Xyz counterpart, which honestly he would be a great material for as he can supply the second material with his second effect. Darj
This is the way it should have been from the beginning IMO; the original Felgrand is, and was, far from good. The second effect requiring destruction by battle feels too unreliable for today's power & speed standards, but I guess that once it gets the opportunity to trigger it, it can put heavy damage on board since the Summoned monster can attack too. It can synergize nicely with Arkblade Dragon as well. I'm curious on this card's story & lore. For instance, which goes first, this Felgrand retrain, or Divine Knight Felgrand? Too many Konami-style Buzzwords. Can't handle. ---- It's honestly not a bad card, it gets rid of quite a bit of resources on the opponent's end, and having upwards of 4000 ATK is really nice (although it'll most likely only reach 3200 or 3600 most of the time).
