Nominate and vote for whichever character(s) you hate the most.

 

NOMINATION STATUS: CLOSED

 

[spoiler=Rules]

-All YCM rules apply

-Deadline is Saturday, March 12 at noon (EST)

-No limit to the number of participants

-Each person is allowed to nominate up to 8 characters

-You must provide an appropriate picture of each nomination and the source (what they are from)

-If you think of someone later that you didn't think of at first and you're sure you like them more, then change your nominations as many times as you like. Just try not to do it too much (too much would be more than 5 times) and make sure to tell me you're doing so.

-As with when you change a nomination(s), if you want to add more (if you didn't reach the limit), be sure to make a post either with the nominations in it or telling me you added more to your original post

[spoiler=Match Format]

First round will be 2P matches in increments of 3 matches per thread. Participants per match or matches per thread might vary depending on how many nominations we get.

 

Preliminaries: More than 32 participants -> however many matches it takes to narrow it down [32]

Round 1: 64 participants -> 16 matches [32]

Round 2: 32 participants -> 8 matches [16]

Round 3: (Quarterfinals) 16 participants -> 4 matches [4]

Round 4: (Semifinals) 4 participants -> 2 matches [2]

Round 5: (Finals): 2 participants -> 1 match [1]

 

Matches will be open for 2 days before being locked. All matches will end at at least 48 hours from starting, except in the case that one character has a huge lead over the other. In the first round, matches will only end early if there are 2 characters with a huge lead over the others.

 

There will be a poll that you can cast your votes in; final scores will be determined from the poll results.

However, you are encouraged to write your vote in a reply as well; if you choose.

 

(Please make sure you write a complete sentence if you opt to post in the thread.)

 

All matches will have public voting enabled; this helps with seeing if we indeed get multi-accounts voting for a particular entry.

If we end up getting tied matches, then all characters in question will move on.

I will not be flipping coins to determine a tiebreaker (I will be voting in these initially).

Do not worry if your vote will trigger a tied match; vote the way you wish.

Any and all characters with the most votes at the end of a match (including those that are tied) go on to the next round. If the final is tied, the match continues until one gets another vote.

It seems like people don't hate a lot of characters. Maybe this will be a small tournament.

Yeah, I was thinking of having like half or even a quarter of the usual nominations, so maybe we'll start with 32 and see where that goes.

Though tbh it's mostly because of what they did, I actually enjoy their characters and backstories. Which is why it was hard for me to figure out nominations for this.

Shun and Mrs Ayasaki (Hayate the Combat Butler)

Not sure how to better nominate the last two, they're basically inseparable as characters in the story.

And might think of some more at a better time.
